Beautiful, great location, and Emily...

Liked: Loved that is was close to downtown and they had a 24/7 bar right across the street that we could grab a drink and something to eat whenever we wanted. The place is beautiful! The stairs are huge so keep that in mind if you want to stay in a room that is not a room on the ground floor. Emily was absolute amazing and showed us around the property and our room when we arrived at 11:30pm! The large rooms were breathtaking. The furniture was a little outdated and old but still very pretty. The breakfast was a continental breakfast with a couple of microwaveable sandwiches. The bagels were good. They had premade French toast that you just popped in the toaster and they were actually really good. The coffee was good and loved it was available all day until 10pm. Not the healthiest options but the breakfast did the trick for just needed something in your belly quickly before heading out. Parking was $55 a night, on top of the room fee which was a surprise. I thought it was a little step to use their parking lot even though we are staying on their property. It’s in the back alley as well and no one is watching it or there when you go out or come back at night so that was a little scary. There is security in the main house 24/7 so that was nice. The pillows were huge! I like a flat pillow and my friend likes big fluffy pillows but they were even big for her liking lol the room to only be able to cool to 70° which is usually hot in our opinion for sleeping but it stayed surprisingly cold with it being 70 in the room and it was very hot outside so we were pleasantly surprised. We would stay here again but probably wouldn’t get the balcony room again. The kitchen sink was very low pressure but not horrible, the shower had great pressure, we didn’t get a chance to use the rub.
Disliked: The only thing I didn’t like was that we had to pay for parking and we were the only guest there the first night and 1 of 2 guest the second night so there was plenty of spots.

Wonderful

Liked: Melrose Mansion is a hidden gem, the hotel is beautiful and the room was very spacious. We loved the pool, with the garlands and flower petals falling in by accident. Breakfast was simple but very good, and all the staff were very pleasant and attentive. The location is perfect, between the Vieux Carré and Frenchmen Street, everything is within walking distance and the street is quiet.I would love to come back!

Disliked: Not many parking spots on property but plenty on street parking available.
