The Spotlight on Melita House Hotel

Classic London Charm Just Minutes from the Music

Melita House Hotel is a warm, family-run spot in the elegant Pimlico neighborhood of Central London. With a traditional British feel, this hotel offers a calm retreat just a short walk from the action. It's only 10 minutes on foot to Victoria Station, making it super convenient for getting to gigs across the city. The rooms are cozy and equipped with WiFi, satellite TV, and mini-fridges—great for unwinding after a night out.

Why Concert-goers love it

Thanks to its location between Victoria Station and Pimlico Underground, getting to London’s top music venues is a breeze. Whether you're headed to Brixton, Camden, or the O2, you'll have a direct route home. The 24-hour front desk is a bonus for late-night arrivals, and the peaceful Pimlico setting means you’ll actually get some sleep after the show.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends wanting a central base near multiple venues
  • Solo travelers catching a once-in-a-lifetime concert
  • Couples planning a weekend of music and sightseeing
  • Fans needing a quiet place to recover after the encore
  • Budget-conscious music lovers looking for value in a prime location

Food and Drink Options

The hotel offers a light breakfast of premium teas, coffees, and pastries daily from 7:30–9:00 AM—perfect for a gentle start after a late night. While there’s no full-service restaurant, Pimlico is packed with walkable cafés, pubs, and diners. Many stay open late, and you’ll find everything from kebabs to gastropubs within a few blocks.

Nightlife Options

While Melita House keeps the vibe quiet and classic, you’re a short walk or Tube ride from London's buzzing nightlife. Explore bars and lounges in Soho, or stick closer to Victoria for a more relaxed post-show drink. Whether you're into craft cocktails or cozy pubs, options abound.

What People Say

Guests love the friendly staff, clean rooms, and safe neighborhood. Reviews often highlight how easy it is to get around London from this location, and many return for the convenient mix of comfort and affordability. The peaceful setting is a top perk for concert-goers who want to wind down after a loud night.

Areas for Improvement

The breakfast is more grab-and-go than gourmet, and there’s no lift, so be ready to carry your bags up a few stairs. Some rooms may feel a bit snug, but that’s typical for the area and price range.

The Bottom Line

Melita House Hotel is a charming, well-located base for concert-goers who want easy transport, quiet nights, and classic London comfort between shows.

Superb

Liked: Lovely hotel in a great quiet residential location and easy access to explore central London with Victoria bus and underground nearby. Can't praise the staff highly enough, lovely people with great customer service. Tea/coffee and pastries every morning an added delicious bonus to start the day. Small but very comfortable, clean rooms. Would definitely book again.

Liked: Exceptional Staff, Location, Quietness.
Disliked: If room is in the basement, footsteps from the floor above may be heard. Also, the window doesn’t fully open-it only opens slightly at the top, in a V-shape.

The hotel does have a...

Liked: While the staff at The Melita Hotel were really very friendly and helpful, our stay overall was not a pleasant one. We wouldn’t come again and wouldn’t recommend it either.
Disliked: The hotel is sometimes listed as a 4-star property, but that’s highly misleading. It feels more like a budget hotel with minimal amenities. The rooms are extremely small—fitting luggage and moving around was difficult. On top of that, there’s no air conditioning, and even on average days, the rooms became so hot that it was hard to sleep comfortably. The creaky floors and thin walls meant we could hear quite a bit from neighboring rooms, which made it hard to relax. The beds themselves were also quite small and not ideal for two people. In addition, our key cards stopped working multiple times even though we followed the staff’s instructions on how to store them properly. There is no elevator in the five-story building, which didn’t bother us personally, but it’s definitely worth noting for other travelers who might find that a challenge.
