Liked: The location is central so really good. You couldn’t hear any noise from the street
Disliked: A number of things:- the apartment was filthy: mould in the showers, none of the kitchen appliances worked (missing knobs and filthy appliances), the carpet wasn’t clean at all with our 1 y.o. having black feet after 5 minutes of crawling/walking on them. Bed linen was outdated with frayed edges. The extra safety locks on the door was also broken. - booked a portacot for a fee, which was confirmed by the property. Upon arrival (with an overtired baby) we were told that the cot wasn’t booked and that the fee advertised was not correct and it would cost us double the price. We were told we would then get the cot immediately, which arrived 45 minutes later. - the receptionist was not accomodating and argued with every point that we raised. Overall really bad stay.

Affordable and spacious accommodation in...

Liked: The Metropole offered a very affordable and spacious apartment for our adult daughter and us in such a great location. And a fantastic bonus was that we could park undercover on site.
Disliked: The kitchen is a little dated in its offerings to self cater.

Liked: Location is fantastic for events we were in Melbourne for with easy access to tram routes, etc
Disliked: The rooms need attention to details! Only one pillow per person is mean and they were all flat, lumpy and lifeless; no face washers provided; the handwash bottle over basin did not work no matter what we tried and there was no alternative soap provided; shower door and grout need thorough cleaning or replacing to remove mould and other stains. Parking fee used to be reasonable and a positive point for this hotel but no more. In past we used this hotel a lot but now look elsewhere unless that location is important for visit.
