Just 5 minutes' walk from Southern Cross Station and Melbourne Sky Bus in Melbourne CBD this hostel offers air-conditioned rooms with free breakfast. There is free luggage storage and free WiFi throughout. Melbourne City Backpackers (formerly King St Backpackers) is a 5-minute walk from Southern Cross Station and a 10-minute walk from Etihad Stadium. Melbourne Aquarium is just 2297 feet away. Guests have access to free internet stations in the lobby. Laundry facilities with washing machine and dryer are available. All rooms have access to shared shower and toilet facilities. Private rooms and female-only dormitory rooms are available. Breakfast is free for guests every morning 8am-11am. Reception hours 8am-11pm. We are an international backpackers hostel and require an international passport for check in at all times.

Perfect location to catch the...

Liked: Perfect location, nice staff.
Disliked: The noise during the night, doors beating. The bed I slept was also noisy with every movement. But as I had to wake up 4am to take my flight it was alright. I wouldn’t sleep well anyway.

Great value and very clean.

Liked: Cleaners came twice a day, making sure everything is clean. Air-conditioning is great, no cold memory in the hostel. Kitchen is tidy and mostly clean, with free milk and soy milk provided. Got activities as well.
Disliked: The bed sheets are making my skin itchy.

Liked: Great location & price, helpful friendly staff, handy kitchen and very comfy beds!
Disliked: People knocking on the next rooms door, many times, at 450am ☹️All bathrooms being closed for cleaning at the same time.
