Liked: Easy booking process, quick and efficient check in and out process, friendly and efficient staff.
Disliked: Rooms were very average. We were on the top floor which we didnt know until we arrived it is the roof, only two Rooms up there so was nice and quiet, but it was pouring rain that weekend and no cover from the door to our room, as the rooms were just two little boxes on the roof and we had to constantly go in and out of the rain. Also the rooms were less than average in my opinion. Very small, cramped bathroom, and very old, since its outside, it was also very cold in the room and the split system unit when we turned the heating on smelled really bad so we had to turn it off. It looked clean but didnt feel clean if that makes sense. For the location the price was good, but quality of the room, not so much.

Liked: Location is great, and the price is cheap. Private double bed room was spacious with fan and heater.
Disliked: Staff were forgettable. It was a very laid back vibe, which isn’t the right energy for travellers who are wanting to get pumped up and socialise. The toilets were frequently blocked and dirty. There isn’t a bag storage room. The only thing available are large lockers that you have to pay for. This is the first hostel I’ve ever seen charge people for bag storage. The hostel was running a bar crawl, which cost around $30. Evens ran by any hostel should be free.

Liked: Staff were friendly and helpful. The accommodation was close to the city centre and the Southern Cross Station. Easy to make the check-in and check-out.
Disliked: Cleanness was a big issue in the place. There is only one male bathroom on the floor for more than 10 rooms. It is cleaned once everyday, but not really a deep cleaning. So, you can see hair, mould and dirt everywhere. The dirt was not only from the past day, but from ages. The same applies to the toilet. There was just one working on the floor I was in. Toilet paper everywhere since there was no trash bin. I was very disappointed. YHA should clean it more than once a day and perform deep cleanings periodically. The 1st floor had a security issue since everyone could open the main door, even without a swipe card. I also found the room cold and without a proper heater.
