Pleasant hotel

Liked: We only stayed one night. Very easy to drive to. Nice hotel with very nice decorations, never seen a place like this. Walking distance to the zoo and the aquarium, they also give a discount. Rooms are nice and spacious. Good breakfast and very pleasing staff. The food in the restaurant was not exceptional but ok, there the staff was also great.

Nice overnight stay with an...

Liked: This is a nice hotel with a bit outdated style. The wildlife/Africa theme is interesting and not cheaply done, so it feels OK. The room itself was large and comfortable for an overnight stop; we had no trouble falling asleep. The staff put bowls for water and food bowls out for our dog (including some treats). Breakfast was really nice; quite extensive offerings of every type - important for me were fresh cut fruit and some bacon, but there was much much more on offer. We also had dinner in the hotel and it was well done for a reasonable price...very friendly staff happy to serve us in English.
Disliked: This is a dog/pet-friendly hotel and sells itself that way, but the charge for having a pet is VERY HIGH (compared to our other recent stays). This hotel is far from the city center - in a neighborhood basically and next to a local zoo - but the price for parking is also really high. It seems like unnecessary (and unfriendly) price gouging, rather than reasonable.

Liked: The location is very good for families with children - right next to the zoo and aquarium. Worth a visit!! Unfortunately we only had time for the aquarium (3h) and witnessed the shark feeding (starts at 10.30). We stopped at this hotel before boarding the cruise. It is not a location close to the center or the naval terminal, but it has very good and direct connections to all areas of Hamburg. The room is spacious, welcoming and has everything you need. In addition, the design is different i.e. each room with traditional African motifs (we had 2 rooms). Breakfast is until 11 and check out until 12! which is appreciated! The restaurant offers good food and a garden with lush plants for that area. Unfortunately we could not test it because it was raining. Probably on the next cruise in Hamburg we will choose it to see the zoo and stay 2-3 days to visit the city.

Liked: Clean rooms, good breakfast.A nice experience overall.Close to the zoo.The underground parking is a nice feature.
Disliked: The only minus… big minus I would say is the fact that they blocked 100 € from my card without telling me that.I tried to contact then via booking but i didn’t got any reply. I had to open a dispute and got my money back after 1 month.Shame on you for that practice!!!0 customer support !I would have given you 10 because we enjoyed our stay but for this practice you and the lack of response for 1 month you deserve less than 5… I was indulgent with a 7 !

Comfortable stay , excellent staff...

Liked: Nice hotel with good location, good interior and even better staff. Close to public transport and zoo.
Disliked: Parking is expensive €24 per night
