Great for a one night...

Liked: 4 periphery per room, some hostels are much higher. Close proximity to Central station and CBD area. Fans in room to keep it cool. Trivia night in dining area
Disliked: Thin curtains, loud street (can’t be helped) slamming doors on neighbouring rooms (soft close may help). Trivia night meant no space for others to eat

I'd come back any time!

Liked: It was my second time in Maze and as Solo Traveller in Sydney I'd definitely come back any time. I love that they offer single-rooms. The common areas are always clean and tidy.
Disliked: The windows are not tight, so in winter you are quite cold in the rooms. Also the rooms are pretty worn-down.

Liked: The location was the best. Also the big kitchen. Bathrooms always clean with many showers. Every night they organised a different event on the common area , good to socialise , and by 11 everybody to bed ( very respectfull w/ those aiming to sleep)
Disliked: Only one dryer for the whole floor(more than 100 people) , The duvet covers were suspiciously stained , dirty. No bed lights.

Avoid at all costs.

Liked: Location, and price.
Disliked: The bedroom (single private room) was absolutely revolting. Found a full bottle of urine under the bed, bed sheets were disgusting and clearly hadnt been washed from the last occupant. The whole hostel smells awful( a mix of sweaty feet crossed with a rubbish dump) and makes you want to vomit as soon as you walk in. 2 washing machines and 1 dryer per floor is also a joke given how many people are on each floor.

Liked: so convenient for city exploring, will 100% stay again for the value for money. Bed was v comfy. Room was suprisingly peaceful since it was right above nightlife areas! So great!
Disliked: The smell was sooo terrible in the foyer and first set of stairs, hit us every time we entered. It's just out of this world strong masking something like vom. But if you don't care about that then ur good, which honestly don't because price was insanely good and showers were all clean etc.
