Liked: Though the lobby looks a bit outdated, it was pleasantly large, calm and well decorated including plants that created an atmosphere of serenity. Aging elevators but stairs (we were located on the 5th floor) became part of your daily finess plan (+ the walking in SF streets). Not to mention we selected Mayflower due its central location which came out as essential in our plan to extensively discover "the beautiful city by the bay".Clean room, nothing fancy in it but it "did the job" housing a 4 members family after wandering in SF! Last but not least, breakfast was impatiently awaited with DIY (tasty) waffles, great coffee, eggs, toasts. We missed the fruits a bit. But overall a rewarding experience hence I recommend
Disliked: the fruits at breakfast, and the breakfast area (definitely a bit small). But we managed!!!

Liked: Delicious breakfest, simple, but sufficient. Locality is close to the city center with grocery store in the same building.
Disliked: Mostly sweet options at breakfest. Some cheese or ham would be nice. The room facilities were a bit old.

Liked: We already used this accomodation in the past, and we enjoyed its optimal position and old-times style. Unfortunately, this year we found it to have become quite less enjoyable:1. At our arrival the beds were done, but we had to remove the thrash left from the previous occupants by ourselves;2. The small fridge was so dirty we couldn't use it at all;3. The breakfast - which years before was one of the best one could find in that price range in the nearby - was limited to some bread, cold hardboiled eggs, some bananas and little more.In conclusion: the place still keeps its old San Francisco style, the staff is quite kind, and the location is optimal for visiting the city - but there's still some work to do to give it back the shine of its past.

Liked: Amazing hotel in downtown San Francisco! The elevator was a very cool experience.
Disliked: The entry to the onsite garage was very narrow so we didn’t chance damage to our vehicle so we had to pay for parking down the street. But not a big deal.
