Rather disappointing at first. Got...

Liked: The shower is spacious and has good water pressure with nice toiletries. I appreciated that there was sufficient handles/hooks to hang the towels and shelf space next to the sink to put toiletries. This is something that is often missing in hotels. Once our rooms were changed, I found the bed large and comfortable. The room was quiet and up on the 4th floor. This meant there was sufficient day light. The gentleman responsible for our room change was very accommodating and tried his best to find a better room for us, giving us some choices. That was much appreciated.
Disliked: What really turned me off about this hotel was that we were given what must have been their worst rooms upon arrival. We traveled with another couple and had booked for 5 nights, but we got the darkest rooms on the 1st floor with strange humming noises in the morning that probably came from the breakfast area. Our room was facing the street yet nevertheless quite somber, but it was really bad for our friends whose room faced a tiny court yard at the back with only a small skylight 5 floors up. The lighting in their room was so poor they were not able to read in the room without artificial lighting during the day. The darkness really dampened the mood and was not something we had expected after seeing the pictures on booking.com. Also, the lighting on my side of the bed was not working and the mattress on my husband's side of the bed was completely broken down so that half of his body rolled down a slope and the whole mattress had to be replaced. After we complained the next morning we were given a much better room on the 4th floor with better layout and daylight and a mattress that was not destroyed, but the first poor impression was already made. Our friends also got a better room and were happy but even there, there the bathroom door always closed on its own and needed some maintenance. There are also no fridges in the rooms to keep drinks cold. As for the breakfast we found it quite mediocre. The pastries, bread and scrambled eggs were a bit tasteless and uninspiring. Not what we had expected after reading some of the positive reviews. The whole lobby is also very dark and the breakfast are is small. All in all a hotel in the 8 point range for me, rather than the 9 range.

Brilliant value for money.

Liked: The hotel was in a fantastic location. The street had a supermarket, lovely bars and restaurants and the area was safe but lively. Staff were friendly, kind and approachable. The bedding and the carpet were very clean and comfortable. They were very accommodating with providing an iron and ironing board, champagne on arrival (as requested) and lovely rose petals on the bed and a nice note for my husbands birthday. Would recommend for a 3 star affordable hotel - value for money was great. They were happy to hold our luggage whilst we explored on the last day.
Disliked: Bathroom was clean but the bottom of the shower appeared a little tired and stained around the seals and water pressure on the smaller shower was poor. Rooms were small but to be expected. The carpets leading to the room were dirty which put me off a little at first but I was happy with the room being clean. No milk or water provided in the room, you needed to go down stairs for that. The staff was happy to provide it when asked though.

Liked: It was our first trip to Paris and we weren't sure if we will like the location. It was in close proximity to cafe and restaurants, walking distance to le Louvre (25min). Breakfast is available at the property for those who want it. Very clean bathroom! Air conditioned!!!
