I wish I could have...

Liked: Everything about our stay was perfect. The hotel is beautiful, our room had a lovely view of the river and there are plenty outdoors to explore. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent.

Standard by their standards =...

Disliked: Having preordered food for my brothers wedding I was still only given one bread roll for the wedding meal. Apparently your chefs can’t accommodate for gluten free which in this day is absurd. I also couldn’t get into my room. Night porter also couldn’t let me in which meant I had to go to my parents room and sleep in a chair. Upon checking out was told “sorry” and had to actually ask for a full refund as it wasn’t offered. Still haven’t seen the other side of the door at this point. Not my first time in this hotel and their shambles of organisation. Weddings are their bread and butter and they simple can’t do it properly.

Very good

Liked: Beautiful and historically interesting hotel. Patio room was wonderful at bringing the outdoors in. Clean.
Disliked: Being woken up early despite paying extra payment on top of expensive tariff for late departure. Then, housekeeping arguing because they hadn't been informed by reservation or reception. Because I'm pretty sure I was not the one as a guest to be debating with!

Enjoyed my stay. Would go...

Liked: Location, comfort, staff and little extras
Disliked: Evening meal. Lamb rump had a lot of gristle in it. Halibut over cooked. Accessible facilities in room a bit lacking no grab rails by toilet or shower. In a twin room but only one chair to sit on.

A must stay

Liked: Everything was fantastic. The grounds, the room, the size of the room, the view of the river, the location of the property (so peaceful). Loved the layout of the hotel and all it offers, a pre-dinner drink in the cosy bar, the restaurant (the food was absolutely delicious, first class quality produce and taste), breakfast plenty of variety and all staff were professional, pleasant, helpful, and friendly. I have been wanting to stay here for several years and I was so delighted with my experience. Keep up the great work, you are managing a wonderful travel experience
Disliked: Nothing, loved it all, except I wished I'd stayed longer
