Lovely hotel, great location and...

Liked: Location fir the zoo is unbelievable, the grounds are stunning.. open balcony to woodlands.
Disliked: Website says pool only open on Saturday so didnt take swimming wear.. to arrive and find out the pool etc was all open..

i wouldn’t book it again

Disliked: Average Breakfast, below average wifi, pool below average

Nice hotel, but needs a...

Liked: The reception area is pretty and breakfast was nice. The beds were very comfy, lovely pillows.
Disliked: We found a long dark hair on a clean towel, and there was mould around the tiles in the shower, plus mould along the bottom of the shower curtain. Really disappointing to see.

Liked: Some of the staff were helpful - receptionist on arrival, bar staff.Parking was easy.
Disliked: Where do I start?Breakfast- choice wasn't extensive- didn't like having to serve ourselves with everything including drinks and toast.- on the first morning there were no saucers.- second morning arrived in restaurant at 9.50 (breakfast finished at 10.30) there was no fruit, bread, eggs, bacon or beans. The staff were clearly not expecting a busy service at breakfast even though, on arrival, we were told the hotel was full with a wedding party and it being school holidays - peak time. Bread arrived as did whole apples (told there was no other fruit but some did subsequently arrive). Then told they had run out of bacon. Eggs, bread and beans eventually arrived.The staff tried to help and did tell me when some fruit was put out.Most of the other residents eating at the same time were complaining.Room/ room service- on the second day we left the card on the door for the room to be made up. Returning in the afternoon, the bin had been emptied and the bag tied and left in front of the wardrobe. Used mugs hadn't been replaced and one small towel left in the shower to be replaced hadn't been taken. Bed was not made.- no decaf tea or coffee in the room. Small point in the scale of things.- pillows were uncomfortable, hard and lumpy. I was given a replacement at reception.Staff- receptionist was friendly and helpful on arrival.- when we advised reception that the room hadn't been cleaned on day 2, we were told that housekeeping had finished. We asked for clean mugs and a towel which were provided. No apology or explanation was provided. When we arrived at the desk, the receptionist was speaking to someone we believed to be a manager, certainly a member of staff, perhaps from the leisure facilities. In spite of standing there waiting for several minutes, their conversation continued and we were ignored until the 'manager' stood back and suggested the receptionist attend to us.

Disliked: The floor around the swimming pool was very slippy

Awful stay, would never ever...

Liked: Good location but the room was absolutely terrible, the shower tap was leaking and dripping constantly. So mould was forming around the shower tap, carpets very dirty and definitely requires replacing, breakfast was suppose to be till 10:30 or 11 but stopped putting fresh food out 30 minutes early so didn’t get any of the main breakfast bits,
Disliked: Wouldn’t recommend the hotel
