Sofitel on a budget. Awesome!

Liked: Great location and very comfortable.
Disliked: Bathroom had an odd smell. Stale smell.

Disliked: The way we kept getting asked if we were with Marsden or Sofitel and when we said Marsden the Sofitel staff were not helpful or friendly

A hidden gem in the...

Liked: Large, spacious and luxurious room. Great location and quiet.As it is located in the same building as the Sofitel, I’m guessing that, our room (523), was either an ex-Sofitel room or a way for Sofitel to sell rooms at a discounted rate via Marsden so the prices doesn’t ‘damage’ the Sofitel brand.All in all, a beautiful room at a bargain rate. Winner!
Disliked: Room was warm so we just opened the door to the deck. Couldn’t see how to adjust the aircon down.

Acceptable accommodation

Liked: Staff are helpful & friendly.
Disliked: Sky tv not working. Moved room & couldn’t get it working in second room either.

Thought the room was excellent...

Liked: Had breakfast in the cafe and it was very good.
Disliked: My only criticisms:- arrival was confusing, lack of labelling, weird reception, .....- there were no facecloths in the bathroom- not enough milk in the rooms for avid tea drinkers and no access to after hours reception to ask for more or to use the snack machine which was locked up
