Nice hotel but rooms can...

Liked: We've stayed here before recently but in one of the inner building rooms. The fact we've come back says something. It is a tidy hotel in general.
Disliked: Our shower head was loose and kept flopping down however we managed by using the alternative rain head. This time we stayed in a room on the western outside of the building, being a Sunday night and with a bus depot opposite come Monday morning it was quite loud and busy from early hours outside and easily heard in the room. I would always request the inner building rooms if booking again.

Liked: Superb location within the viaduct district.
Disliked: The hotel is within another hotel (Sofitel) and you have to call reception to have someone come down and bring up to reception. this only applies at check in, but quite tricky if you do not have a local phone set up.

Disliked: The fridge was a bit weak. Hard to keep food in it or drinks as cold as I would like.

Liked: The room was large with a patio accessible by a large sliding door. Clean and staff were great. And no outside noise heard in room even though it was Saturday night and in the viaduct.

Liked: The location of the hotel was great and the communication was really good.
Disliked: It is located out of the Sofitel Hotel however when you arrive you have to call Marsden Hotel and then they have to come and collect you from Level 2 - it didn't make it a very seamless experience. You are not able to use any of the hotel facilities - everything is extra. The Sofitel staff won't answer any of your questions which is a bit awkward. You may have the "same" rooms as the Sofitel ones but lacks the luxury feel e.g. 1 ply toilet paper and rough towels. I also don't feel that the standard of cleaning or upkeep is the same e.g. kitchen cupboard broken and edges of bathroom didn't seem very clean. We also paid to upgrade our room to a Marina View room which definitely wasn't worth the extra $60 as there wasn't much marina to see just other apartments which was disappointing.
