Marriott's Manor Club at Ford's Colony

Not what I expected -...

Disliked: We had a terrible experience here.I will preface this by saying we are Marriott Gold members. We have stayed at many Marriotts and had a good experience, which was why it was even more surprising that this experience was so bad and that the hotel seemed not to care at all or do anything to address it.The air conditioner did not work in our room and their solution to that was a box fan. There was no offer to switch rooms or anything of that nature. The refrigerator in our room did not work either. Worst of all, however, the bathroom door was broken such that when you closed it, you were locked inside. I discovered this because my daughter got locked in there after taking a shower. She’s a teenager so I feel thankful that I was on the balcony when it happened because sometimes when you have teenagers, you leave the room for a bit. If I had been outside at the pool or something, who knows how long she would’ve been stuck in there banging on the door.Additionally, they advertised free parking and then charged me $20 for parking when I got there.When I brought all of these issues to their attention, they did not offer to comp the room or waive the ridiculous falsely advertised parking fee, or anything of that nature. Instead, their offer was for me to come back and stay there again at a discounted rate. Yes that’s correct. Their remedy to the problem was for me to pay them more money and stay there again!! Which of course I won’t be doing.It was absolutely ridiculous and very disappointing, especially to be treated that way after being a gold customer for so long. Definitely would not recommend this Marriott.

Disliked: Parking fees

Liked: The property was beautiful with an abundance of activities and several pools.
Disliked: The $20 per day charge to park your vehicle is absurd, considering how much you pay to stay on the property.

An incredible family vacation spot!

Liked: The property is absolutely beautiful. There was everything in the world for children and our family to do. They have activities, arts and crafts a pool golf movies bike riding. It is just a fun place, the rooms and suites are beautiful!
Disliked: I loved everything!

Amazing, tradition worthy and well...

Liked: It was beautiful with something to do for everyone
Disliked: A few activities they offered weren’t “working”. For example, they had about 6 children’s bikes but insisted only one worked. Why were so many bikes not being fixed when you advertise that you offer bike riding and trails. However, we made it work and it was great.

Liked: I loved everything. It was an amazing place. It was clean, spacious, and very homey. I didn't want to leave, but we will be back
