Marriott Columbia

I would like to make a recommendation, and that would be to have the presence of security there in the hotel. I was confronted twice by men who were not staying at the hotel, but were there to solicit money from the hotel customers. Not a good feeling when you are attempting to get to your room and you're not sure if they are planning to hop the elevator with you.

Liked: The food at the restaurant and the hotel bar. Taylor, the bartender was excellent. He was professional and personable.
Disliked: My room was a handicap room, which I would have preferred the front desk to tell me that when I checked in. However, they did not. I did not enjoy the room at all!

I was definitely disappointed at having to wait on the room, not having any toiletries, and seeing the thin mattresses on the beds. But I was pleased with the pleasant staff and the hotel was within walking distance of the venue.

Liked: Nice staff; decent hotel bar; good location.
Disliked: Room wasn't ready on time; we had to call down to front desk to request toiletries (they forgot to put them in our room), which then didn't get brought up until hours later; really crummy mattresses.

Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and in proper order. Had dinner in bar area before setting off to concert. Only complaint was noisy guests in hallway after midnight!

Liked: Easy to locate as entering city; close to venue we were attending (Township Auditorium).

Disliked: oatmeal was TERRIBLE. and the floor was sticky.made the experience really bizarre
