Constance, Arlington, visiting McCaw Hall Wed, 4 December 2013

This was the most beautiful and comfortable hotel we've ever stayed in. Loved the Victorian décor! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The beds were extremely comfortable. We plan on coming back!

Liked: Beautiful hotel!
Disliked: No hotel parking available.

Remember it's an old building...

Liked: Loved the Tin Lizzy lounge and Alan the well as the Bourbon and Blues night the 4 some were so so talented ???
Disliked: The shower as it made horrible high pitched screams for the whole time it was on. The tub also had a continuous stream of water that was a bit annoying as I'm a light sleeper.

Location and room were great.

Liked: The room was spacious; more like an apartment. We had everything we needed and more. Location was good.
Disliked: It wasn?t that we didn?t like the staff but standard seems to be that the customers are on their own. We asked about a restaurant and directions. They hadn?t heard of it and didn?t know where it was located. It was 3 blocks away. The staff culture is off. No greeting when we left the building or returned other than to respond to our greeting. Customer service training to go a little further than the minimum?

Liked: I liked the ambiance, the large spacious rooms and lobby. Also our room on the 3rd floor was very quite. Beds were very comfortable. This hotel was in an excellent spot for walking and bus connections. Many great restaurants in the neighborhood. The tin lizzy is expensive but is an interesting pub.Drugstore on the corner if you need anything from water to bandaids and wine.
Disliked: Tin Lizzie lounge is expensive. The whole hotel looks like it needs a real good deep clean. Venting for example. The hotel is very old, and interesting ,but I believe some areas need better upkeep. Our tub was not in great shape paint chips, the plaster on the walls? Walls had some holes in it or chipping off in large spots in bathroom.Weird smell in our room not sure if eminating from the old wood.

Had to check out after...

Disliked: Only suite available was on the third floor, and no elevators on the property. Advertised as 2-room suite was actually one large room. Hardwood floors left room not cozy.

Liked: Staff was helpful and friendly.
Disliked: Hotel is dated and tired. OK, it?s historic, but needs to be updated for the price charged.

Good location

Liked: Could turn the air con off and put ceiling fan on. Great location! Close to Seattle Center, restaurants and a good market place. Would stay again.
Disliked: Air con was noisy and the fridge was old and noisy.

Expensive for what you get

Liked: Close to most of the attractions
Disliked: Phone didnt work, bathroom door wasnt closing properly and there were ants in the room. 640 dollars for a simple room for 2 days is a ripoff i believe

Very comfortable bed, but overpriced.

Liked: The bed. Large roomTapas in the bar downstairs. For alpinists this is close to Alpine Ascents
Disliked: It?s old. Everything in the bathroom looks old. It even smells to old. Water taps are hanging loose, holes in the tub, etc. I understand the ?authentic? part but there really comes a time where they should put some proper equipment in there and that time has long but passed. Breakfast is simply pathetic. Don?t take it.
