As part of our continued commitment to enhance our property and service we are currently in the process of renovating our rooms and public areas due for completion spring 2024. During the renovation period work will commence daily from 9.00am to 5.00pm. Just a 10-minute drive from Colchester's historic city center the Marks Tey Hotel offers free WiFi access and free private parking. Guests have free access to the leisure club and there is also an on-site restaurant. The Lifestyle Health & Leisure Club is complimentary to residents during their stay and facilities include a 15-yard indoor swimming pool and steam and sauna rooms fully air-conditioned gymnasium and 2 outdoor tennis courts. Colchester Zoo is within a 10-minute drive of the hotel and the Tiptree Jam Factory can be reached after 20 minutes' drive. Scenic walks can be enjoyed in Constable Country also just a 20-minute drive away. Flatford Mill is a 30-minute car journey away.

comfortable, fresh and modern. Easy...

Liked: Modern, clean and spacious room, with comfortable bed and good shower
Disliked: breakfast rather standard, ok but nothing special. The pool and fitness facilities were in a separate building, which is fine in summer but not ideal in winter or if raining

Great and lovely staff!

Liked: Great hotel and staff were friendly and super helpful, food was wonderful and breakfast selection very good.
Disliked: Having to pay for the car park.
