Had a great time and...

Liked: The nice central location close to Union Square and Market Street for shopping and easily walkable to things like SF MOMA too. It's also close enough to BART and Muni stops to let you get around the city relatively easily as well. It's also close to a supermarket and has an off license literally next door. Breakfast was tasty with a few little changes to what was on offer each day which was nice. The staff were also really attentive and friendly, Andy was especially vigilant in making sure everything was up to scratch. The restaurant has great views across the city too. The bar was nice and the free drinks as happy hour are a nice touch. The bar is just next to the restaurant after dinner service we were able to go and sit by the windows to finish our drinks with lovely night views of the city. The room was a bit of an odd shape but had plenty of space, with a large wardrobe with plenty of space for all our things as well as our suitcases and other shopping. Had a great view from the windows, the bathroom wasn't the largest but was fine for the two of us.
Disliked: It is always disappointing when something so easily avoided takes the shine off a good evening. We went to the bar one evening and were enjoying a few drinks. I ordered a beer and a small beer (I actually asked for a pint and a half) and they came in two different sized and shaped glasses so I thought nothing of it. I paid the bill when it came but then noticed that I had been charged the same for all the drinks. When I queried this with the barman he immediately started to give me attitude and was was told in no uncertain terms that there was no such thing as a half beer and I should know that. As I'd already paid the bill I didn't have much recourse. It doesn't sounds like much and if I'd just been told that when I ordered them then I wouldn't have cared. I had not expected to be served, and charged for, something other than what was requested. After having such great, friendly and professional service from all the other staff it was really disappointing and ended our evening on a sour note

Liked: Breakfast was so good. Huge selection and really good quality. Comfy beds, friendly staff and really central location, but also quiet for a good night's sleep. As an extra bonus, between 4 & 6pm, select drinks at the bar are free!
