My family had a good...

Liked: Staff are nice and helpful. The room is nice, new and clean. The location is accessible to restaurants. Willingdon Beach is very close.
Disliked: No elevator. We stayed in a room with a kitchenette and there’s no exhaust fan close to the stove.

Exceptional

Great value for this brand...

Liked: Overall there was very little to disappoint about this brand new hotel. Facilities were very nice, rooms spacious, beds extremely comfortable and a decent size mini fridge with actual freezer compartment for ice paks.
Disliked: No ice machine on site

Too pricey for amenities provided

Liked: Attractive, Clean room, comfortable beds, linens, towels, etcNicely appointed bathroom Surprisingly quiet, given location by ferry terminal to Texada/ComoxPleasant reception staff
Disliked: -Lighting was very bright, with no convenient bedside lighting for reading.-Sparse furnishings, eg no chair, dresser -Property is on a steep hill, with no level walking from car to building. Very difficult for anyone with compromised mobility. No elevator. At our request upon booking to avoid stairs, the hotel provided a main level room, but failed to mention how steep the slope access is from parking.- The price point seemed steep compared to other Powell River accommodations, which suggested the room facilities would be above average and spacious, which was not the case. Room was actually smaller than average. Disappointing, and felt ripped off.

What you see not what...

Liked: It was newly renovated and in a very convenient location for ferry access.
Disliked: We booked here and paid a premium because the room shown on Booking.com featured a beautiful panoramic ocean view. However, the room we were assigned looked out on a road and parking lot. We were told that the rooms with a view were already occupied so we were out of luck. We would never have booked here if the real view was shown. False advertising to say the least!

Clean and comfortable. For the...

Liked: Great new suites, comfortable beds, very clean and newly updated. Reception was kind and helpful in dealing with tech problems.
Disliked: TV didn’t work either night without having to have everything reset. No bedside lamps. No deadbolt or door chain. The property really could use a large sign for the main entrance so that it can be easily found.

Very good

Liked: Large room, wonderful view, very comfortable bed. The kitchenette as an added bonus. The bathroom is small but lovely shower and big, fluffy towels.
Disliked: A bedside table on each side of the bed would be nice and there was no reading lights for the bed.

The Marine Inn has upped...

Liked: Renovated room with comfortable bed and upgraded modern bathroom. Very friendly check-in person. Next to the BC Ferry terminal and walking distance to restaurants, and coffee shops
Disliked: Room 107 is not a spacious Classic King room with an ocean view as advertised and shown in the photo provided by the hotel as attached. It's a tiny room with a view of an adjacent parking lot. There was no bedside reading lamp. A desk would be a welcome addition to the room.
