Great staff but small rooms

Disliked: Property was far away from the town center. The rooms were very small but the staff were very pleasant. The photos definitely did the hotel justice!

Exceptional

Liked: Glenn was awsime at front desk. Valet was awsome. The food was awsome room cleaners awsome..facility awsome..Awsome experience for myself and my family.

Great location, a bit tired...

Liked: The location is amazing
Disliked: The carpets in the rooms were dirty and there was a barking dog left in one of the rooms throughout our stay which was annoying.

Good location but…..

Liked: The rooms are cute but need a freshen up. Kiran at the pool bar was great.
Disliked: Reception staff not very helpful and need to work on those greeting skills.

The hotel grounds were kept...

Liked: The Mar Monte has the greatest ocean views from the comfort of your own room. A plus if you get a room with a balcony.
Disliked: The parking situation is tight, most likely because of how close it is to other hotels. You can only valet, so get ready to pay up and extra for a tip.

Great proximity to beach, but...

Liked: Proximity to the beach.
Disliked: Booked 2 rooms. One room was acceptable but the other didn’t have enough towel sets, the room was missing furniture and it was musky. The AC wasn’t working properly, we informed the front desk and a technician came by to check and didn’t know where the thermostat was located. The technician concluded that it was on heater when in fact it wasn’t and offered us a fan?! The AC kept shutting off so we just opened the windows. As for the parking…the hotel only offers valet for $48?!/night. The following night, we opted to park in the street for free instead. Didn’t have many food options around the hotel. We had to walk over a mile away to food and shops. Not many bike loaners available. You have to get there earlier than 8am.

Overall we had a fabulous...

Liked: The location is right across the street to the beach.
Disliked: The parking is valet only and there is no street parking .

My say was for work....

Liked: I have stayed at Mar Monte Hotel many times since 2006. While it’s changed companies. The hotel staff and owners were wise to update everything. This is especially important to me because it is such a great location and within my budget. Thank you!
Disliked: No complaints. A little short-staffed, but that is a COVID issue I see everywhere. The staff was incredible though.
