Lots of inns in Saugatuck....

Liked: Location is excellent. Shower had decent pressure. Bed was okay.
Disliked: Other than the location, there was nothing to justify the price of this room. Hotel was very old and somewhat quaint. But, lots of little things were annoying or scary. Breakfast was take it or leave it, one selection. Bathroom door had a loose handle and was hard to open. Heater was too noisy to turn on. Bannister on the stairs was loose for wall mount and caused me to slip carrying my luggage up the long flight of stairs. There is a four or five spot parking out the back. However, when tried to exit the back with my luggage, I was berated by a woman who said it was “her establishment” and she didn’t want guests “banging up the paint” on the back door. So, I had yo go thru the front. Look, it’s her place and I don’t mind following local rules. But, she acted like I was a felon and an idiot. That in itself would keep me from coming back.

Excellent stay! Friendly unobtrusive service....

Liked: Great location, close to everything in the downtown area. Close to great bars and restaurants. We were able to walk everywhere. We were there near the end of the season so crowds were not a problem. Staff was excellent. Room was very clean and quiet. Breakfast was light but a great start to the day.
Disliked: No complaints.

It was a nice getaway...

Liked: We have stayed at the Maplewood before and we booked a deluxe room. It was bright and clean. The location of the hotel was very good and the staff was very pleasant and friendly. Breakfast on the sun porch was very pleasant and the weather was wonderful.
Disliked: The room was very small and I was surprised that it was considered deluxe. The bed was a queen rather than a king and the mattress was very uncomfortable, way too soft and probably needed to be replaced

Fun cute and will be...

Liked: How central it was to everything was able to walk to everything
Disliked: That it is next to a park love kids but to be woken up at 7am by kids playing in playground was a bit much.

Exceptional

Liked: The breakfast was wonderful and the staff was so friendly and accommodating..
Disliked: Nothing

Saugatuck is never disappointing and...

Liked: The property is in a great location. It is within walking distance to downtown. It is very quiet and you feel like you are in your own house! Your stay includes breakfast served on a lovely porch. The staff were super friendly, making you feel at home.
Disliked: One thing we thought could be improved is the fact that coffee is not available until 8:15am and you have to wait until 9am for breakfast. It would have been nice to get our coffee by 7am and breakfast by 8:30am.
