alright

Liked: The room was fine and the breakfast was good
Disliked: The bath and the bed are a little high so i am 5'4 and managed but anyone smaller may struggle. Found out on arrival the rooms we booked were under maintance and was put in a different room no notice at all about the change was booked 3 months in advance a bit of notice would of been nice.

Liked: Breakfast was lush and our server who really was the chef was exceptional. He only learned of our breakfast time shortly before we arrived and was such a pleasure under the short notice he received.

Bad

Disliked: If Booking.com would have notified us the reservation we had for this night had been canceled in advance/ they notified you but you did not contact us. This was the only reservation we e could find- a dump, not a mansion. When I contacted Booling.com they said they would try to get a refund from this booking, but later notified me they wouldn’t. As I have found in the past, Booking.com does not accept responsibility

An elegant stay

Liked: An exceptional hotel within a large garden, flowers, trees and wild bird melodies. Wonderful nature with an adjacent river. The staff was exceptionally polite. Room was spacious, elegantly decorated and comfortable. Excellent full Scottish breakfast was served. There were also continental and other breakfast selections (like vegetarian). Complimentary tea/coffee and cookies in the room. Elegant sitting areas, piano bar, pool table and a comfortable atmosphere to enjoy long evenings with a drink.
Disliked: The hotel is in the middle of a large garden, and connected to the outer gate with a narrow road. Going to the city center by walking is a bit difficult.

Great relaxing location which allowed...

Liked: While the building is showing its age, it’s still beautiful and impressive. Great location and delicious breakfast. Friendly helpful staff.
Disliked: Only breakfast available but very good restaurants located within a short walking distance.
