Liked: Rooms were spacious, staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Everything felt safe in line with Covid restrictions. Great location too.

BE AWARE-DATA PROTECTION BREACH
Liked: PLEASE BE AWARE::Mr Khawar is asking guest for national insurance number, claiming its for I.D. DO NOT GIVE YOUR NATIONAL INSURANCE number to anyone as this is a scam and in breach of data protection, it has been reported to ICO and there head office. Please also be aware Mr Khawar does not like females and is an extremely unpleasant bully man. I have stayed with Mansion house several times as i have been looking for property in Elgin. On this occasion I was unable to stay in my property due no heating as the pipe was burst. You can also see from my previous stays the reviews have been excellent, but unfortunately this man is solely taken down the beauty and hard work of the other team members.I booked with them again as its normally fantastic, and not once did they ask me for I.D on any of these occasions, as i had paid online with my credit card. When checking in, i was asked for my I.D, and he was provided with driving license, from my partner which is sufficient, as the room had been paid on line and i was not paying cash. (Please do not provide any further details of yourself). He then proceeded to want my National insurance number, which of course i refused, his manner in which he addressed me was bullying and vile, he spoke polity to my partner and addressed him through out the remainder of the check in. Every time i tried to speak and query, he would talk long sentences over me, so i couldn't speak, and then made a rude comment unnecessary towards m, " you work in the industry , you should know better", and yes i do. He did not let us know what room we were in, and my partner had to ask him where we were going, and again proceeded to keep attacking me, with a comment ", well shes stayed here before, she should know where the room is." Khawar was well aware of the fact i was in tears at this point, as the whole day was extremely stressful and then to receive that kind of treatment was horrible.
Disliked: On check out,i asked for a manger to call me as i wanted to make them aware of data breach. No manager called, so i phoned in the evening to speak to one and got Mr Khawar again who told me he was the manager, when he release it was me, he then told me his manger will call the following day, i then received a message telling my to write to a email address my concerns, the manager had no interest in speaking to his guest, so this had made me believe he is aware of data breach and the bullying manner of Mr Khawar, upon investigation you will i am not the first, second or Evan this person to post online the treatment of this one person, So it has now been reported to the head office and to Data protection. Please note this one man does not take away the fact the rest of the hotel team are outstanding, the housekeeping keep the rooms clean to a extremely high standard. Nothing was going to be put online as i just wanted the manger to be aware, but as he has no interested, people need to be informed, that you do not need to provide all that i.d, only i.d you can provide if requested, is your passport and drivers license as they are pictured form of I.D and they are not allowed to photo copy this. I am aware i will receive a terrible comments back at me online, but as long as i know i have done my best to inform people that they do not need to give national insurance number, for the correct procedure of date protection please research online before- gov.uk is an excellent source of factual information, please be aware of scams.

Liked: the posotion of the hotel and the bedroom was a delight
Disliked: the access to the bath/shower was extremely difficult. the breakfast was so poor we decided not to have it the second day
