Comfortable escape from Honolulu

Liked: The hospitality was exceptional. The hosts were very polite and attentive. The house is a historic site and while charming, the feel of being at 100 year old mansion is not lost. I enjoyed being able to escape the madness of Waikiki yet still within a moment's notice of all popular tourist attractions.

Exceptional

Liked: The breakfast was filling and varied catering for all tastes. The garden was beautiful with a lovely small swimming pool and waterfall. An unusual property and a refreshing change from what is normally available. Would love to go back.
Disliked: Having to leave after only one night rather than the four as originally planned due to the travel ban coming into force. Sam, the manager, was very understanding and promised a refund through Booking.com.

Exceptional

Liked: Old school bed and breakfast in a beautiful setting. Gardens were spectacular, rooms were well appointed, old bed was comfortable. Air conditioning was appreciated. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was great with excellent coffee. Must be comfortable with the dogs and cats who inhabit the place.
Disliked: A bit musty, especially on the first floor. Parking is tight.

Pleasant

Liked: Very nice staff members. Lovely views from our top floor room. Pretty garden. Great breakfast.
Disliked: Very poor parking situation. Had to mostly park in street and once several blocks away. No toiletries or soap in bathroom. Seemed like a very large extended family live on the first floor with dogs. (They were all nice and I like dogs but did not expect this). Messy clothes and rugs hanging in the yard. Someone woke us up around midnight banging on our door and rattling key in our door lock.

I enjoyed my time at...

Liked: I liked that the hotel was an historical building. It was really pretty and the room was comfortable, clean and spacious. The people we interacted with were so friendly and helpful.
Disliked: My expectations of the breakfast were not met compared to my experiences at other bed and breakfasts. For me it is about the breakfast being home made and superior to that at a normal hotel. The breakfast here was mostly similar to any hotel continental breakfast, except that they did make the eggs to order.
