Liked: Good location and friendly staff.
Disliked: No natural light in room - request to move not met. Pillows / beds were not comfortable. Restaurant was overly priced and poor quality. Staff were friendly however.

Liked: Excellent hotel. In the center of Douglas. Comfortable, beautiful, aristocratic. Excellent English breakfasts: fruits, pastries, delicious coffee!

Great for a short stay...

Liked: Comfy bed. Good shower. Great location. Fantastic cooked breakfast! Really friendly staff.
Disliked: Cobwebs over the ceiling. the shower although good, leaked over the bathroom floor under the screen which was a bit annoying.

Disliked: The bar area wasn't comfortable to sit or breakfast all too small and squashed in. The shower wasn't great. The light in bedroom wasn't nice.

Great hotel

Liked: The hotel location was excellent, and the reception staff and restaurant staff were very helpful, polite, and friendly. Our room was comfortable. There was plenty of choice for breakfast. We had meals in the evening on 2 occasions, and they were tasty.
Disliked: This is not a dislike but an area where improvement is needed. We stayed for 5 nights, and unfortunately, our bed linen was not changed for the whole of our stay even though I did query why on the evening of the 4th day. I was told that this would normally be changed after 3 nights, and they would let the housekeeping manager know, but the linen was still not changed. This is surely the responsibility of the housekeeper manager who should advise her staff that guests' rooms should have linen changed after their 3rd night and especially if guests are staying for longer, as we were. I mentioned this to the reception staff at our checkout, and as we had a late sailing, we were given a complimentary late checkout of our room for the day, which we appreciated. We would use this hotel again as the positives do outweigh the negatives.
