Liked: I stayed at the manion because I was attending a funeral , after the service I checked into my room and asked the owners which taxi firm was best to use to get to the wake , the lovely guy dropped me to the wake himself stating it’s only a short drive and the taxi firms don’t like short distance , he was chatty and welcoming , the breakfast was lovely , I did say I may check out earlier than breakfast was starting as I needed to get home and the lady owner offered to start breakfast early for me if I wanted The room was clean and comfortable and had everything needed for the one night stay

Home from home on an...

Liked: This is a very comfortable and friendly hotel, travelling on my own, the staff made me very welcome on this overnight stay. My room was very clean with more than the usual facilities. The lounge bar was perfect for a pre dinner drink before ordering an excellent home cooked evening meal. Breakfast proved to be as good as my evening meal. My grateful thanks to all the staff for making my visit a 'home from home'.

Liked: Very accomodating allowing us to check in early due to a funeral in the area. Breakfast was beautiful, very good quality Room was a suite which we went expecting and was lovely. Nice big room and view of fields at the back. A lovely relaxing stay.

Liked: We stayed in Suite 8. Lovely view from lounge of paddocks, sheep and lambs. But we could not open the door to let in the summer breeze and hear the lambs. It appeared to be permanently closed.Large shower with good pressure.Good breatfast although not available until 8.30 on sunday morning so quite late if you want to get away exploring early.
Disliked: You could feel the bed springs through the sheets. Needs a new mattress or a topper, I had a terrible nights sleep. Made worse by a horrible bright green light over the exit door which shone into the bedroom, i had to shut the door which made the little bedroom really stuffy with 2 people in it.The door going from the hall into the little lounge had a stiff auto closer on it (why???). Bathroom really small although the shower was a good size. Decor needs an update, exterior a bit tired too.
