Really lovely hotel but wouldn?t...
Liked: Staff were really friendly and helpful. Good location.
Disliked: We have previously stayed in a family executive room so we were used to lots of room and the big bathroom. Booking the double room I expected it to be similar but just with one bed. The room size was ok but the bathroom is so small you could barely move in it. Also the windows were so old you could feel the breeze coming through and hear everyone outside shouting from nights out.

Maybe the "cheap room" is...
Liked: Mmmm.. it was warm and bed was comfy, sheets clean. blackout curtains work well..
Breakfast could have been great....
Staff were quite friendly generally, but we felt slightly out of place in the bar as we are just ordinary folk and not "trendy/fashionistas" or drive a flash car...
Very close to town so easy walk in, so could find somewhere more homely..
Disliked: "Boutique hotel" not sure what makes it a boutique hotel if I am honest... Our room was no different to any other hotel.. (and I stayed in a lot over the last 22 years) small ish room, but ok.. the shower room was miniscule and was in poor repair and shower was pathetic..... Shouldn't need a guest to report faults when staff are going round every day.. And we were "upgraded".... long dusty cobwebbs in the room a no cost option.... "Full English" is massive, but... served on a cold plate and the food felt like it had been sat on the side for a while, which is a shame as if it was hot, it would have been amazing, everything was stone cold before I could finish.. room temperature didn't help either.. plenty of continental stuff and bread etc... Oh.. Parking.. its free if you can find a slot on the road outside after 6pm, or £10/£11 a day..

Good, but make sure what...
Liked: The breakfast options were good. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and immediately brought a new hairdryer to the room when the one there didn't work.
Disliked: Our room was directly under the bar/restaurant section, and because it is an old building with wooden floors, our ceiling was constantly creaking. The room also had no view, and was a basement room. Marketed as an "executive room" we expected a bit more. TV options are very limited, and the remote was very old, with worn buttons.

Liked: Good location, practical
Disliked: Room was dirty, flies on bed, restaurant and bar was unorganised and management was poor, drinks took a long time, whilst the whole restaurant experience was inadequate. However food was tasty.

Liked: Room 50. outside after checking in during storm Dennis. Bathroom could not be any smaller and would benefit from a window blind.
Breakfast was good except for coffee machine.
Disliked: Staff. poor trainning
