Nice enough, but let down...

Liked: Room was more spacious than I expected it to be, bed was comfortable, shower was good
Disliked: The walls are paper-thin. I was kept awake by a baby screaming in the room next door, and then by the TV in the room on the other side. The TVs are wall-mounted, and their speakers are on the back, so with no soundproofing at all it just blasts into the next room. I booked this hotel instead of a budget one because I wanted to get some decent sleep, so was really disappointed with the lack of soundproofing.Also just little things didn't work - the phone in my room, the floor lamp, the remote control batteries were dead. It was not obvious that I needed to insert my room key into a slot to make the air con work (as all lights and other appliances worked without it), so the first night was very stuffy and uncomfortable without this on.

Liked: Staff are very professional, polite and helpful. Food is a very high quality. We booked this because it was the best quality Hotel that was dog friendly and although we weren't expecting the £25 charge for the dog to stay, they did make him feel very welcome.
Disliked: Charges for Dogs should be clear on booking, not on check in. More staff at 15:00 to check people in.

My stay at the Malmaison...

Liked: The property location is good, the hotel decor is beautiful and the hotel is clean. The staff are excellent and especially the receptionist she is a 10/10.
Disliked: I'm gonna be honest there's hardly anything I didn't like other than the lack of parking space, but that was clear before I booked the hotel.

Great for a city visit

Liked: Great location. All the staff were really friendly
Disliked: Was offered an upgrade but this felt like a standard room. Given a corner room which was amazing
