Modern comfort in the heart of Belfast

A polished, contemporary hotel in central Belfast, Maldron Hotel Belfast City puts you within walking distance of the city’s biggest entertainment venues. Stylish yet welcoming, it sits just 200 meters from the Grand Opera House and less than a 20-minute stroll to the Waterfront Hall and SSE Arena. With a relaxed vibe, helpful 24-hour front desk, and modern rooms featuring flat-screen TVs and air-conditioning, it’s a smart pick for music fans visiting the city.

Why Concert-goers love it

You won’t need a taxi after the show—this hotel is right in the middle of Belfast’s entertainment district. Whether you're heading to a gig at the Grand Opera House or catching a show at the SSE Arena, everything is within easy reach. Guests love the soundproofed rooms for a quiet night’s sleep after the music winds down, and the 24-hour reception makes those late-night check-ins a breeze. While there’s no official 24/7 room service, the central location means you’re never far from late-night bites, with many eateries just a short walk away.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel doesn’t host live music itself, you’re in the thick of Belfast's nightlife. A wide range of pubs, cocktail bars, and live music venues are just minutes from the doorstep. Whether you're after a quiet drink or want to keep the party going post-show, you’ll find something nearby. The hotel bar is also a nice spot to unwind with a local craft beer.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that the rooms can feel a bit compact, especially for longer stays or larger groups. Parking isn’t on-site, which may be a minor hassle for those driving in, but public transport and taxis are readily available.

Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Dawn W, Belfast, visiting Limelight Belfast Thu, 15 June 2023

You are definitely paying for the location. The room is very cramped and basic. The toilet had a fault and water ran all night. Bathroom looked like a dog had been locked in there and chewed the skirting/door. Air con spluttering out dust. Disappointed at £144 for one night.

Liked: Cental location; everything close by.
Disliked: Overpriced.

Disliked: The fact there was confusion at the reception and she never checked me in properly, hence there was misunderstanding! Manager adjusted mistakes with the staff and gave me a generous discount because of the mistakes of the staff!

Highly commendable General.Mamager

Liked: The hotel is ideally located—just a five-minute walk from everything you could need. The food was excellent throughout our stay, but what truly set this visit apart was the after service experience Special recognition must go to General Manager Pamela O'Brien. She handled a tricky situation with genuine care and professionalism, going far beyond what we expected. Her sincere approach, attentive listening, and personal commitment made it feel more like a boutique experience than part of a large hotel group. It's rare to encounter such standout leadership in hospitality, and she’s someone any hotel would be lucky to have at the helm. This visit was part of a family gathering. While I’d usually perspnally opt for hotels like The Grand Central or The Fitzwilliam, I left this stay genuinely impressed—and will stay again for an upcoming conference in October. As someone who stays frequently with the Dalata group—including the Clayton in Chiswick last month and an upcoming stay in Ballsbridge in 2 week—I can confidently say this hotel exceeded expectations. Thank you for leaving me with such apositive experience.
Disliked: Some staff need better training however I understand this is affecting the hospitality trade across the board Plus it's such a transient industry
