Needs Tweeks and a Rate...
Liked: We arrived during a time of low occupancy, which remained constant throughout our 4-day stay. As a result, we mostly had the facilities exclusive to ourselves. We did not use the kitchen to prepare any substantial food, preferring to avail ourselves of the many choices in the Crescent City. It appeared that the kitchen was adequate to do some light cooking, if not more. Coffee was available throughout the day and was delivered by the staff/owner each morning, arriving on the hall floor in front of our room door at the agreed-upon hour.We checked in after being met by Andrea, a pleasant woman who met us on behalf of the owners who were out of town. She was efficient, consuming only a minimal amount of time getting us settled and then we were on our own, though we did understand that we could text her for answers to our questions. It was then that we were informed of the restrictive aspects of the "breakfast" part of the B&B's service. We were a bit taken aback because, during the roughly 2-week period of our travels prior to our arrival in New Orleans, most hotel facilities had opened up their full breakfast services. The owners soon arrived home the following day. They responded to our inquiries and requests courteously and promptly with a friendly demeanor. Clearly, they have been providing this type of service for several years as their service demeanor is highly practiced.
Disliked: We did note the appliances to be at least minimally adequate, with a few oversights. The mismatched pans and minimal utensils hardly spoke of a fully adequate kitchen if one were to prepare something complex. A minor issue: The carafe didn't fit the coffeemaker in the cupboard and was intractable to our correction efforts. We wondered why it was there? We feel that the "bed and breakfast" moniker requires comment. This facility bills itself as such and charges a commensurate rate. A rather minimalist "brown bag breakfast" is provided. This falls far short of that to which we're accustomed. A B&B we left just 48 hours prior to our arrival at this facility provided provided a sumptuous gourmet breakfast each morning of our stay. By contrast, we got little of value here and took our breakfasts elsewhere. Addressing this issue with the owner, we were given a convoluted explanation regarding an "open kitchen restriction" to justify the brown bag - stating some city-wide constraints. We felt that to be somewhat contrived. There is ample room to spread out guests if distancing was the issue. As medical people, we know that to be the only potential COVID concern, as there is very little concern with fomite transmission (virus spread by objects) and food served hot poses no issues. Given the stark difference, we feel that a significant discount should be given to acknowledge the lack of a proper breakfast for which we paid, the second "B" in the "B&B." It's not fair to guests to charge for service not provided. On comfort, the issue in New Orleans is always air conditioning in summer and heating in winter. Arriving in June, we found setting the air conditioner to be unwieldy. The hallway and adjacent room(s) were served by the same unit. Our room overheated in daytime and become uncomfortably cool at night as air blew directly on us.

Liked: Location was fine, close to family. Parking was tight as always, but found a close spot every time. Room was very comfortable and clean with nice traditional furnishings. Host was exceptionally friendly.
Disliked: Had much higher expectations on the breakfast, but was explained that it was COVID related that the breakfast was a brown bag with a piece of fruit, snack bar and coffee. Understand that there may be kitchen restrictions, but most restaurants were open and busy, so breakfast items could have been ordered from offsite and delivered to rooms for a much better breakfast serving.
