Liked: I like the location, staff, cleaniness, and all the features of the room. It is a very nice set up for extended stays as well as over night. Very clean well thought out room set up.
Disliked: I did not like the bed. The room I stayed in feels like the head of the bed is lower than the foot of the bed. I will definitely request another room for my next stay. The pillows did not help with the situation.

Liked: The staff was friendly.
Disliked: When we arrived the first night, floors of the room were filthy. Our shoes stuck to floor when we walked. I asked for a mop and clean water. The desk clerk provided me with my request. After the first cleaning, the water was black. I asked for an additional clean mop and water along with spray cleaner for the room surfaces. I mopped again and then cleaned the entire room before going to bed. We arrived late after a 13hr trip and it was an additional 2 hrs to my day cleaning. The next day, I received a call from the manager apologizing and an offer of another room. I will add, I asked for a room change upon arrival and was told no. At this point, I declined the room change, because I knew this one was at least cleaned for my standard. No offer of any reimbursement was offered other than “free beer”. I declined this offer as well. I would have changed hotels but our son was coming to visit from Camp Geiger and we didn’t need that stress added to our short visit. I do want to say that I noticed an increase in cleaning staff and we were treated nicely. I was just astounded at the level of filth upon arrival. We stayed in Jacksonville a couple of weeks later for my son’s Infantry graduation but definitely chose the Holiday Inn Express over Mainstays. The Holiday Inn Express was very clean in comparison to this hotel. I hesitated to write a review but I hope this helps another family to find different accommodations. I only chose this property because my Marine son suggested it. I’m sure he thought it was fine after sleeping in a sleeping bag all week. I guess the most surprising part was the offer of “beer” for compensation of cleaning my own room for 2 hours.

Disliked: The beer cooler in the lobby was broken, it was summer. I was sold a piss hot corona, with no lime!
