Magnuson Hotel Detroit Airport

Awful, don't stay here.

Liked: Convenient location, cheapest around.
Disliked: The staff was awful, the rooms were dirty. The first night we had to move rooms due to roaches. There were also cigarette butts in the hallway, trash piled up everywhere, most of the furniture and fixtures (shower) were stained and broken. Dead bugs in the drawers. Then we had to extend our stay by a few more days (cost was a factor or we'd have left) and the front desk lady was absolutely awful. I asked for a receipt and she refused to provide one. She made me sign a paper with the charges and I asked for a copy and she said no, so I explained I just want a copy of whatever I had just signed as it's my signature and I have a right to read what I am signing, then she said too bad you should have read it when you had the chance. I said I didn't know I wouldn't get a copy or I'd have read it first. Then I asked if I could have it back for a minute and just take a picture of it with my phone and she said no and if I asked again she was calling the police. I asked why I couldn't have a copy and then she said I'm not getting a receipt and I'm not going to be staying there anymore because she wasn't in the mood so to get my things and leave although I had already paid for more days. Mind you I did not so much as raise my voice only asked for a receipt. Then a bystander in the lobby asked why she wouldn't give me a receipt and she told him to mind his own business and sprayed that guest with a chemical bottle. We have all of this on video and the cameras at the hotel as well. She needs to be fired and I want a full refund.

Liked: It was OK... more cleaning around light fixtures and TV had fingerprints all over. Remote did not work to tv. Other than that, it was fair price.

Basic accommodations. Good access to...

Liked: Very close to Detroit-Wayne County airport. Can get airport shuttle from the hotel.
Disliked: website is misleading in that the long term parking is not on site but at the big parking lot across the street. The only free parking is for patrons of the hotel while they are staying. Can not fully comment on breakfast as we left to early. Breakfast area looks to be limited to continental type.

Liked: I didn't like anything at all, I walked back to go to the room and I opened the door to the room. And I immediately turned right around, the hall way smells like fried food and there was people hanging out on the halls, and just nasty and smelt nasty also it smelled like cigarettes. The room had one flashing light and the room was completely dark the bathroom fan was so loud. I always look around the room when I stay at a motel or hotel and I look under the bed and there was a cigarette under there. The door was busted the lock was broke right off so the safety of the room was completely unsafe. I had my children with me. It was the only room I don't believe that for one minute. I'm so angry that I spent even 1$ on that motel it is not a hotel. I didn't stay in your room. You guys make the lobby nice and put a little water fall in there just to catfish people into spending their money on it.
