The Spotlight on The Magnolia Omaha

Classic Charm Meets Downtown Convenience

Modern comfort with a touch of historic elegance, The Magnolia Omaha is a boutique-style hotel located just three blocks from the Old Market District and under a mile from major Omaha concert venues. With its vintage architecture and upscale vibe, it’s a favorite for travelers looking to stay close to the action while enjoying a peaceful night’s rest.

Why Concert-goers love it

You’re just a short stroll or complimentary shuttle ride away from downtown’s big-name stages and intimate venues. After the encore, retreat to a quiet, comfortable room with free Wi-Fi, cable TV, and plush bedding. Late arrivals are no problem with a 4:00 PM check-in and easy 24-hour airport shuttle. Whether you're coming from a day of travel or a night of revelry, The Magnolia makes the transition seamless.

Who this Hotel is great for

Groups of friends hitting a weekend festival
Solo travelers chasing their favorite bands
Couples on a romantic music-filled getaway
Fans wanting a quieter post-show recovery spot
Budget-conscious music lovers who still want quality

Food and Drink Options

While there’s no full-service restaurant on-site, you're just minutes away from the Old Market’s endless dining options — many serving late-night bites. Grab coffee from your in-room machine or explore nearby breakfast cafes for a slow start after a late night. The complimentary shuttle makes it easy to duck out for a quick meal, and the staff is always happy to recommend local favorites.

Nightlife Options

You’re steps from downtown Omaha’s vibrant nightlife scene. Whether you're looking for craft cocktail lounges, live music bars, or dance clubs, you’ll find something to match your vibe. While The Magnolia itself doesn’t host live music, it offers a laid-back lobby lounge perfect for a nightcap.

What People Say

Guests love the hotel’s location near the Old Market and its free downtown shuttle. Many highlight the hotel's elegant atmosphere, friendly staff, and comfortable rooms. It’s often described as a “hidden gem” for travelers who want convenience without sacrificing charm.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that the building's historic nature means rooms can vary in size, and the hotel could use a few modern updates in décor. Others note that while the shuttle is a great perk, it can get busy during peak times — so plan ahead if you're catching a show!

The Bottom Line

For concert-goers looking for a stylish, well-located stay in downtown Omaha with easy access to venues and nightlife, The Magnolia Omaha hits all the right notes.

Mary, Norfolk, visiting Orpheum Theater Omaha

Disgusting! Black in bed and shower. When I told the front desk they apologized but nothing else was done. A discount for the room would've been nice!

Disliked: Black gnats in bed and shower.

John, Norfolk, visiting Orpheum Theater Omaha

We had tickets to the Orpheum presentation of The War Horse. Enjoyed being so close to The Old Market. We shall return!

Liked: Loved the atmosphere, both inside and outside The Magnolia. Love, love seeing people coming and going and had "ownership" of their stay. Breakfast was fantastic! Staff was great!
Disliked: The beds were listed as queen sized but was only double bed. We have queen sized at home so knew this wasn't correct. It's hard to please everyone but the mattress was so soft we kind of "gravitated" to the middle.

Disliked: The bed it self seemed to be damaged on the interior side as if the springs were blown out.

Very nice stay overall, but...

Liked: Lovely, historic building with a great location within the city (easy walk to the Old Market area). Our room was huge, had excellent air conditioning and was very clean and comfortable for sleeping. Nice bar in the lobby, albeit quite expensive.
Disliked: It was expensive to stay and parking was an additional $29, with a parking lot adjacent to the hotel. Although the location of the parking was very convenient, you had to use a room key card to enter/exit the automated parking system - meaning you had to check-in first (not convenient) and if you checked out and turned in your room key card, you had to find assistance to exit (why not just have gate open for exiting like at most locations?). Also, the hotel apparently hosts a lot of weddings and other functions and it can be very crowded and noisy in the lobby area.

Good

Liked: Everything was fine, the building itself was architecturally and historically interesting. The rooms/staff/decor were not unusual.
Disliked: Breakfast took ages: 10mins to get OJ and regular coffee, and 30mins+ to get toast and fruit. We asked for the check at same time as ordering and let them know we had to leave within 20mins to attend a funeral (we were wearing black). We never got the fruit, toast, or check within 30mins of sitting down. We left $20 on the table -- there was no staff around, and so we quietly left. (It was not busy)

Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Disappointing.

Liked: Location was perfect - easy walking distances to restaurants and entertainment.
Disliked: Both check-in and check-out took much longer than expected. Not enough staff to accommodate the guests waiting to check-in/check-out. In fact, after waiting 15 minutes to check-out, we left our room key and departed because we were going to be late to a meeting (and, our attempt to check-out was at 7:45 a.m.)Although the room was clean, the curtain was torn and the window was dirty.
