Unique property

Liked: The rooms were unique and clean. Bed was very comfortable
Disliked: The sink was blocked in our bathroom however it was still manageable and in fairness to the staff, we didn't report it as we could still use it.

Charming relaxed gem

Liked: Very nice boutique hotel in center of Haarlem. Only negative is a lot of stairs that are old so they are curved and steep. Room was spotless. The decor is quirky but unique and has a nice vibe. The manager was very personable and helpful. Breakfast was also very good.

Liked: We stayed 4 nights rather than Amsterdam as that city had jacked up its hotel prices above $400/night for KINGS' DAY weekend. It was $290 per night and the room was very large and comfortable. The stairs are steep and narrow so not good for those who are unable to maneuver them with luggage. No elevator. The breakfast was the exact same every morning and quite skimpy on the eggs serving. Not enjoyable for the price. The owner was grumpy and seemed to be not enjoying his job for most of the time. One day his waitress did not show for work so understandable, but the other 3 days he clearly conveyed his dissatisfaction with his work with his demeanor and attitude. Hope he adjusts this as he has developed an interesting old world hotel in a good location with charming features.

Great location, stylish room

Liked: Great location. Our room was stylish, spacious and bright, overlooking the street. The bed was very comfortable and the settee and table a welcome alternative to sitting on the bed. The bathroom was large with a lovely bath and rain shower.
Disliked: Some hooks to hang coats would have been handy - we had a lot of rain during our stay. We had a blocked sink that we reported twice, but wasn't rectified. Under the bed needed attention - there was a thick layer of dust.

Liked: Convenient location.
Disliked: Not really a hotel - just rooms with no communal/shared areas, bars, lounges etc. Dark room, with poorly arranged space. No shelves in shower area, not pleasant to stay in.

Beautiful characterful hotel

Liked: Beautifully restored old building, great care taken with the decor. Very comfortable beds, nice hot showers, excellent breakfast and good advice on local restaurants. Fabulous location, easy access to everything in Haarlem and schipol Airport and train into Amsterdam
Disliked: The staircase is original and therefore very quirky and steep, not recommended for inactive/less able-bodied travellers. But for us, one of the features that made it unique stay

Liked: The hotel located in the center of the town, very close to the train station and all sites.
Disliked: This is an old building and has some steep stairs.
