Liked: Location
Disliked: Room was smelling of cigarette smoke,I asked reception for house keeping, they sent a young chap from reception with some kind of liquid to scatter around as they did not have a spray.It didn’t work and we were not offered another room, although our suite was not as described on Booking. Com. We had to persevere as it was too late in the day to move on.

Fantastic stay!

Liked: We had a brilliant stay at this hotel, we were travelling from Scotland to Devon breaking up the journey with our two children and dog. The hotels facilities were great, large lovely pool which the children loved after a day in the car! The hotel advertises itself as dog friendly and we found it to be one of the best we have experienced when travelling with our dog. He was welcome throughout the hotel and grounds. The golf course itself was lovely for an early morning walk and the local town was incredibly pretty. We are staying again on our return journey to Scotland.
Disliked: The only downside on an incredibly hot day and night was that our room was very warm, no air conditioning and no fans available. With four people in a room and a dog it made for a slightly uncomfortable night.

Disliked: Veiw from room was a car park. Mould in the shower. If you are a golfer it would be good, lovely golf course

poor poor service

Liked: poor staff on reception and repeated attempts at contacting reception over the issues with no answer lead to me bringing them up the following morning and being promised a call from a manger which i never receivedi booked a premium room specified with a large double and a single bed. i was provided a room with single beds meaning it ruined my sleep. Also i noted a very strong smell of illicit substances in the bathroom too
Disliked: the lack of service which is completely different from previous stays at this hotel

Exceptional

Relaxing overnight break

Liked: Lovely setting, friendly staff. Room was spacious and clean.
Disliked: Very small thing but there was no hair conditioner provided so take your own, spend using the spa as you will need to wash your hair.

Disliked: dated facilities, needs refurb. Overpriced food.

Liked: There was a golf ground which was lush green
Disliked: I think it’s old , needs renovation .
