Week stay during Covid summer
Liked: Liked location and facilities, staff were very good.
Disliked: Wine available for meals was expensive for what it was. Shaver point didn't work which was reported.

Great Hotel and location for...
Liked: We had a lovely 3 night stay in this well appointed hotel. We found it to be in a great location with excellent facillities. The 2 restaurants were fantastic and all the staff were friendly and very covid aware. Our room was spacious, warm, clean and very comfortable. We would definately return without hesitation.
Disliked: Nothing.

Pleasant
Liked: The room is huge and clean.
Disliked: The breakfast was OK. Organisation was very poor. We wait 40 mins the last day to have our breakfast. And the dining room was almost empty. Whatever they served to my partner wasn't what she asked for. We didn't say anything cause we didn't want to wait 1 more hour.
I booked it cause I wanted to use the hot tub. We called them to ask about that. They told us everything was working as usual included the hot tub. Of course it wasn't. We understand the situation due the pandemic, but receptionists should say the truth

Good location, lovely staff.
Liked: Good location, lovely staff and great breakfast, rooms very clean.
Disliked: Did not get the hotel we booked, it had been temporarily closed and we were moved to Highland hotel, not notified until we arrived, paid more for the other hotel room.Bedroom given was a double we booked a king size bed and the room quite noisy with traffic from A9 at the back of the property, heard traffic in the early mornings.

Left feeling a bit cheated
Liked: It was clean
Disliked: We have stayed with Macdonald resorts before and booked into the Highland Hotel. This time we booked into Morlich, the more expensive choice for a better quality room to what we had stayed previous. When we arrived at the hotel we were told that the other two hotels had been closed due to low occupancy and they were only running the Highland hotel. We explained we had paid for a better room in Morlich and they told us to cover this they had put us in an executive suit in the Highland hotel, but this room was no different than the one we had been in last time, and there was over £100 difference which we still had to pay! There was no email in advance before arriving to tell us this! We also arrived at 9pm at the main reception to find everything closed and no idea where to go. Bit gutted with it all really.

Disappointing all round service
Liked: Not a great stay !
Disliked: We turned up at The Morlich Hotel to find it in Complete darkness !. Having had no communication from anyone we had to phone the number we had from the booking details. We were then informed the Morlich hotel was closed due to low occupancy and we had been moved to the sister hotel a few hundred yards down the road. We found the new hotel, checked in and headed to the bar for a well earned drink.
Once in the room we were aware of a loud noise from water pipes coming from above the ceiling so asked to change rooms. We were in 2304 and were made aware that 2306 had also complained. we were then offered 2305 as an alternative !! we accepted this room as it was getting late and the room was on the opposite side of the corridor and had less noise although it was smaller and a lesser spec than we had booked. We were told the manger would contact us in the morning and address the issue. We had no contact all day from the manager so had to find him to sort it out. He acknowledge that the room was smaller and a lesser spec so moved us to a more suitable room. Later that night we ate in the restaurant of the hotel. Very disappointing given that it wasn't that busy. The food was average at best, luke warm and the service slow.
We had opted to stay another night rather than pack everything up and move to another hotel and the manager knocked £30 off the cost of the room !
Then just to top it off, the lift broke down whilst we were in it and as my partner is claustrophobic it was not a great experience at all.

Would not stay here again.
Liked: Staff were very lovely ? and could not do more. There was a few stuck up staff who thought they were better than you and look down at you. But apart from that it?s was good!!
Disliked: So when we arrived on Friday for a whole weekend stay. We got told before we arrived I was getting upgraded to exclusive king size room with a view as the hotel we were ment to stay in was closed. But when we got in the room it?s was a plain small double room with no view.The bedroom had a very dry smell and there was curly hairs on my bed..yuck ? also to be told that we have limited housekeeping due to restrictionsof COVID 19So went down complain and we got moved to an other room which was lovely. It?s had an queen size bed and a lovely view.Moving on, we got a restaurant menu for the Friday night as we booked half bored accommodation but got told that the menu was for the whole weekend. So basically eating the same food all weekend. So I thou we just eat out on the sat and sun. Food was not good on the Friday night but tasted bland and very burnt ?First night was really good slept well can?t complain about the bed as it was so comfy.Sat was really good but we were out all day so only come back to the hotel on sat night night.We order drinks from the bar hubby had a larger shandy and we he started to drink it it was flat because the bartender did not know what he was doing. He put the lager ? in first not the lemonade lol it?s teased bad and next day he had a sore belly!! Went back to room to find there been no housekeeping done everything was the same when we left.Sunday was ok was out again most of the day but come back to the room not even touched from housekeeping and our bin was overflowing and towels not even moved or changed and tea and coffee was not filled up. So hubby and I wanted a hot cuppaSo ordered coffee and tea to bring to our room so we have a wee munch while celebrity get out of here come on.Went to have the shortbread biscuits ? I thou it?s was a little soft and went to look at the date and it?s was 4 week out of date.
