Cheap & Cheerful

Liked: Location was great for our weekend trip to Landmark. Child friendly site. Small pool/playparks. Restaurant on site, fairly priced.Overall a fine wee site for a quiet getaway. You do get access to the other Macdonald leisure facilities aswell.
Disliked: Cabins are a little run down, could do with a paint. Master bedroom is quite small, struggle to get down one side of the bed.

Liked: Staff has been really amazing. Surroundings beautiful.
Disliked: The chalet was looking tired and old. Some of the things in it are not in good working condition. For example broken loose hinges of kitchen cupboards and broken hairdryer. The carpet is dirty looking and same as the bed covers, cushions and furnitures looks like it's not been cleaned in a long time.

Liked: I liked that it was near the things we wanted to visit. I liked that it was one of the cheapest options for us to book (3 adults and 1 child for 2 nights). I liked that we had access to the swimming pool and facilities at the larger resort for free. Cute ducks and local cat on site.
Disliked: It was not value for money. The property was clearly old and not well maintained (MacDonald resorts all over really), it wasn’t even clean. It smelled rank from lack of heating/airing regularly, the floors were freezing even with the electric panel heaters on (I don’t think there’s any insulation). There was mouldy wood and spider webs in the conservatory. Cutlery, crockery and glassware had been stored wet so smelled awful and needed to be rewashed. Blunt kitchen knives, damaged worktops, dirty oven, dodgy water pressure, broken plug chains in the sink and bath, broken toilet roll holder, the reading lights in the “master” bedroom don’t work. Oh and there were mice in the walls/ceiling.

Don't expect to Dine there...

Liked: Great location.
Disliked: We found a used contact lense on the bathroom floor on arrival.We were told the restaurant was closed Monday and Tuesday when actually it was closed Monday to Thursday. The QR code on the information leaflet stated only closed Monday Tuesday also!We were also told we could use the swimming pool in Aviemore Macdonald Hotel free of charge when in fact it cost £10 per person.Rooms and decor extremely dated.
