Pleasant
Liked: Lovely staff, nice location, good breakfast.
Disliked: Noisy room. Partition door between our room and next door meant poor soundproofing which resulted in a poor night's sleep.

Acceptable.
Liked: Lovely quiet location, very few guests so quiet in the hotel
Disliked: Water (H & C) were bizarre - shower went from an OK temperature to scalding hot and back again. Water at the sink took 5-10 seconds to appear. Room was very well used with a refresh/upgrade well overdue. Evening meal served in a pub-style location - food was average, beer was average. Breakfast served in the hotel in a room with lovely views. Food was OK.

Nice and comfortable but needs...
Liked: Very good views. Lovely and quiet, and bed very comfortable. Staff were really good and polite.
Disliked: Could do with some TLC. Room paintwork is quite marked and chipped, along with some of the furniture. Everything is looking a bit worn and tired.Evening meal was in the Linden Tree on-site pub conservatory. Conservatory was very nice and staff were great but thought the cost for what you got was a bit expensive. Plus also could do with a covered walkway to get from hotel to pub when raining.

Enjoyable but………….
Liked: The hotel was easy to get to and a great location for us. The grounds were well kept and lovely to see out of the window. There is so much character and charm around the hotel which is nice to see. Breakfast staff were an assist to the hotel. We could have done with more tea or hot water with breakfast but they provide a good selection overall.
Disliked: I applied for a possible upgrade which I was told I would find out at the checkin if it was possible. However on checkin I was just given my key and not informed about anything. We were not told about any special offers, which we only saw on the desk when checking out. We had booked a table at the onsite pub before arriving. We were shown to our table promptly and the area was lovely. We were given a menu and drinks were ordered. However when the next people arrived a few minutes after us they were offered two different menus to choose from and told about the catch of the day etc. food was delicious slow arriving and by staff that need some training as wiping tables seem to be a priority over the chef shouting for service 3 times. Then we get to the room!! I had done 2 upgrades as we were celebrating a special birthday and my expectations were high. The room itself was light and airy and great views however the furniture was tired and the bed needs binning! Sorry I mean both beds as that’s what we had two beds just pushed together. We both slept very little as it was so uncomfortable. The bed was nice and wide (again 2 beds together) but was incredibly short! Both of us lying down had our feet off the bed. The shower pressure needs improving.Overall we have had much better sleeps elsewhere and were disappointed with our visit.

Needs a little TLC
Liked: Pool and sauna were nice. Lovely building and grounds externally
Disliked: The hotel was a bit tired. You can only use the pool up to 8pm which is quite early. The dinner wasn't good quality. No mention of Wifi and no info given.

Dreadful
Liked: It’s a lovely building set in grand grounds but sadly it is in desperate need of investment.
Disliked: I paid £135 for a room for one night for myself, my partner and my two dogs. We have stayed in lots of lovely dog friendly rooms elsewhere, however at linden hall sadly your treated as a second class citizen if you have a dog, the rooms were appalling.. tabs didn’t work, rooms stank, wardrobes were broken, showers broken, hand soap empty.. I complained and we were moved to another room, where the walls were stained throughout.. all in all a very disappointing stay and I would encourage everyone to consider staying elsewhere
