Liked: The pool and sports facilities

Stunning surroundings with so much...

Liked: Lovely hotel building in stunning peaceful surroundings with beautiful gardens. The bar and spa staff were excellent.
Disliked: Requires some updating. The self catering apartments in particular were shabby and dated. We booked last minute so there were only 1 bedroom apartments available and my husband and I slept on a sofa bed in the living room. I wouldn’t normally mind this as it was a short stay (we’ve done this in other places) but the sofa bed was very old and incredibly uncomfortable. It really wasn’t fit for purpose. We gave up half way through the 1st night and just slept on the floor

Nice view not nice accommodation

Liked: The location and view were great as advertised. The gardens are beautiful. Aberfoyle township a short drive away was also nice.
Disliked: The property is in a bad need of an upgrade. It shouldn’t be advertised as a four star property. We couldn’t sleep in the bedroom for the must smell. Fortunately thr front room and couches were ok.Im asking booking com for some form of compensation.

Fantastic apartment with incredible views...

Liked: Incredible location with jaw dropping views. Over the road from a brilliant watersports activity centre where we booked several activities and loved them all. The facilities available at the hotel were fantastic - swimming, sauna, steam room, tennis, football....plenty to keep us occupied whilst at the hotel. Very easy and quick check-in and check-out. Leisure centre staff were very welcoming and chatty.
Disliked: A few parts of the accomodation are tired eg. Broken tiles on balcony, broken sofa bed (we managed to fix this ourselves with a screwdriver) but none of this bothered us at is was still incredibly good value for money and didn't distract from our stay.

Beautiful, particularly if you want...

Liked: Such a beautiful location! We were in a lodge, it was brilliantly equipped, everything was high quality, the sauna in our lodge was brilliant. The swimming pool and leisure facilities were lovely. The staff were friendly, approachable and helpful.
Disliked: Nothing, it was lovely!

Absolutely awful. Stunning location but...

Liked: Totally shocked at how untrained staff were left alone to dish out cakes that they didn’t even know what they were serving. Every interaction with a staff member was disappointing
Disliked: Meals in the restaurant where we were both given the wrong food and not even offered condiments or a napkin. Just a fork!

Superb

Liked: The location was great, we had the loch view apartments, good for a short trip. We had the apartments and it was spacious and had all the required amenities. We didn’t try the restaurant but it looked nice. Overall a nice hotel
