A gem of a bygone...

Liked: Great place with unexpectedly large facilities. Amazingly beautiful landscaped grounds. A place of great natural beauty. The apartment was unexpectedly large, with a great view. It even had its own sauna. Restaurant terrace was lovely. Swimming pool and gym as well.
Disliked: The buildings are all mostly in a state of disrepair. Not only are they dated, they are also badly maintained. Ruptured false ceilings with peeling paper, musty smell everywhere, old peeling paint, building plaster broken off. As if stepping back into a bygone royal area that is now just barely making ends meet. I wondered if the post-brexit construction labour shortage had anything to do with this situation.We had enormous difficulty with getting wifi internet in the apartment. This was particularly annoying because there was no mobile signal as well in the area.The apartment we had was vastly different compared to the photos we saw.

Liked: Well-kept grounds in a beautiful setting. Bar & restaurant areas welcoming, nice atmosphere, food and service good, friendly staff, lovely views onto the lake. Leisure centre is a good set up, friendly informative staff, relaxing in pool area. Self-catering apartment spacious with large balconies, comfy beds, clean throughout.
Disliked: Ensuite bathroom in apartment had no water pressure and not able to use shower. Issues with water ingress in kitchen ceiling throughout our stay - coming from upstairs apartment, reported to reception but not able to be fixed during our stay.
