Room outlook and evening meal...

Liked: Lovely outlook, comfortable bed, good sized room, nice sitting area, evening meal was excellent, breakfast coffee pot was good and plentiful, On site parking was close to hotel.
Disliked: Breakfast - Scrambled eggs were rubbery, mushroom was cold, gluten free toast was not toasted, Room - not enough 13amp sockets, TV programs didn't seem to be available, Fixtures and fittings were tired and needed some TLC, ie fridge cabinet doors needed adjusting, shower water was a little cool, shower room extraction fan didn't appear to be working.

Disliked: Dog barking!! My pet hate. Woke us up 7.30am! No-where does it say on the booking.com information under this hotel, does it say it is a dog friendly hotel. If it had, I would never have booked a room.

Liked: the location was lovely
Disliked: Communication with hotel prior to staying poor, sent emails twice and had no reply . Phoned four times, eventually a lady answered who said she had taken overflow calls she was not on reception but would pass my questions and request to reception. This happened twice and I had no response till nine at night on day of stay. took them two weeks to reply? Room was hot no air con that worked , placed in outbuilding which was unkempt and shower room had somebodys snot on wall. No water in room although it was really hot. They offered forty per cent back on day after but should have been full amount considering issues or another stay in main building.

Overpriced the hotel needs a...

Liked: The location is the outstanding positive to this hotel. I think it is the only reason to stay here.
Disliked: The rooms were tatty and the air con very poor. The breakfast was extremely overpriced and most items still had an extra charge on top of the £26.00 price. The service at the bar was extremely slow and the bar was under staffed.
