Friendly staff but disappointing rooms,...

Liked: Friendly and helpful staff, It’s only five minutes walk to Blenheim palace so very convenient. Restaurant food was good.
Disliked: outdated rooms needs modernisation and air con is a must I would suggest portable air con units as a minimum!! We paid for an upgraded room only to sleep uncomfortably as the room was extremely hot even with two fans on!! Unable to open the window as located on the ground facing a main road. The block were our rooms were located had a leaking ceiling and the key card didn’t open the main door leading to it so had to ask staff to let us in. The hotel description should include that air-con is not available as rooms are very uncomfortable to spend a night in which is the main purpose of staying at a hotel! Very dissatisfied

A good hotel needing a...

Liked: Fantastic location. Room (king sized double) was good, and beds comfortable. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good- except they ran out of key items over a few days
Disliked: The venue ran out of several breakfast items over a period of four days whilst we were there. Building interior - especially window frames could do with a refurb.

Loved where it was

Liked: Well positioned in the middle of Woodstock close to all amenities and walking distance to Blenheim Palace. Village is delightful and full of lovely shops and restaurants.
Disliked: Generally the level of cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Brass panels on the kitchen entrances full of fingerprints and tarnished .Toilet door dirty. It’s a very tired hotel in need of much loving care.Breakfast a little lacking - staff lackadaisical- repeat asking for tea toast etc.No smoke salmon two days running - no brown bread one day.Must mention very helpful receptionist who because we are old ,changed our 2nd floor room to ground floor very nice room .
