Liked: Very good location
Disliked: Very dated room decor. Felt like we’d stepped back in time by about 25 years. Poor WiFi and tv didn’t work. Didn’t feel it reflected the price paid and that it’s dining out on former glories.

Mixed feelings

Liked: Super comfortable bed, excellent location.
Disliked: Weird staff behaviour. The lock on our door wasn’t working, presumably because it was left in cleaner mode so wasn’t latching. Front desk staff came over and saw the issue and said they’d move us to another room. Then another staff member (presumably a manager) came over, did something to the door, then implied that there was nothing wrong and said maybe there had been a glitch. Door was then fine, which was good, but why lie and act like we’re making it all up?Also missing very basic amenities in the room like a pencil and pad and a laundry bag which is pretty standard in a hotel with a pool.

Don’t be deceived by appearances.

Liked: It looked beautiful from the outside and was a short, if rather dangerous, walk from the town. The room was ample for one night and the bed comfortable.
Disliked: The room needed modernising and redecorating, especially the bathroom. The breakfast experience was substandard with its buffet style service of vastly overcooked food.We shan’t be making a return visit.

Liked: Lovely property, friendly, helpful staff.
Disliked: The noise from the wedding went on after we wanted to sleep - nothing could be done about this and the people appeared to be having a wonderful time, everyone should on their wedding day, but it did keep us awake.

Liked: The building itself is lovely and the staff very welcoming.
Disliked: The room was spacious and clean but could do with a refurbishment. I appreciate that this is difficult in the current economical climate.

Liked: Beautiful old main building with pleasant modern bedrooms adjacent. Very good breakfast. Amazing swimming pool!! Wonderful old trees.
Disliked: No marmalade for otherwise ample buffet breakfast!
