Liked: The staff were fantastic. The hotel was lovely in a beautiful location. Basil was an added bonus!
Disliked: Unfortunately I'm a light sleeper and the room we had was above the kitchen and the fridge disturbed me, my husband didn't hear a thing!

Superb! Gorgeous property, delicious food...

Liked: A beautiful traditional mansion with wood panelling and gorgeous heavy curtains, huge vases of fresh flowers and lovingly furnished in keeping. When we pulled up to the house it certainly cuts an amazing picture with a manicured lawn to the front and when being showed to our room a lovely huge oak staircase passing Basil, the very friendly in house parrot! We were given the Honeymoon Suite! Couldn’t believe it for the price we paid. Huge bedroom and the bed was so comfy; bath with shower over was hot with good pressure and fluffy towels. We also had our own living room with TV, so three rooms in one, bedroom, bathroom and living room. Still smiling about it now! We thought the drinks and dinner would be expensive due to all this lavishness but again we were pleasantly surprised with it being very reasonable and delicious. Breakfast was included in the price and equally delicious. The staff were all so friendly and happy with nothing being too much trouble. We were only there for one night as a stop over on our journey home from Loch Fyne to Somerset, but wish we could have stayed longer.
Disliked: Absolutely nothing. We stayed on a Thursday so it was quiet, but as this is a wedding venue it may be busier at weekends.

Amazing & will definitely go...

Liked: All the staff were so welcoming & friendly & everywhere was spotlessly clean. We were up for a family funeral & the hotel was a perfect break from the sadness

Lovely short stay, so glad...

Liked: Superb room overlooking the front gardens with a magnificent view. Really grateful for a room upgrade. Bed was large and comfortable, sheets and room were spotless, and the seating area was excellent. We had an evening meal which was extremely good and breakfast was fine with plenty of choice. Staff were attentive and friendly. A great overnight stay which we thoroughly enjoyed and will return in the future.
Disliked: Very hard to criticize under the circumstances, but perhaps a walk in shower would have been better in our room.

Outstanding country hotel

Liked: Beautiful building set in lovely grounds. Staff were very friendly & welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and also very good value, again the staff were very friendly & attentive. Also, a dog friendly hotel except for in the dining room but we were offered a table in the reception area if we wished. Very clean and comfortable, beautiful rooms. Will definitely stay here again.
