To live in a Mension...

Liked: Idial for refuge from the hussles of the city. Beautiful building. Good rooms. Amazing grounds. Very comfortable. Excellent service. Good restaurant. Beautiful pieces of art.
Disliked: A little shabby but fine if you like it. And I do!

Exceptional

Liked: very good value of money - perfect for weekend getaway, friendly staffs. Nice spa (water is very warm in the jacuzzi pool)
Disliked: grass tennis court is closed; the hard court surface needs maintenance. There are bugs and insects in the room if you open the window at night

Liked: Good value for money. Food was very good. Hotel fabric was dated but that was expected just ahead of its closure for a major refurbishment. Staff were excellent.

We really enjoyed our stay...

Liked: Set in extensive grounds and there are nice walks you can take. The Hotel has a lot of history and character.
Disliked: Everything was fine

Liked: Loved the location and beautiful groundsSpa was cute but had everything to feel relaxed!
Disliked: Unfortunately staff were inattentive although reception staff were very accommodating I needed to upgrade in order to try and enjoy my stay, this was not cost effective as I expected much more. I am hopeful that after renovations starting September 2025 it will be much better

Not enough staff to manage...

Liked: Beautiful old fashioned building
Disliked: Dirty in the spa as there were no staff, don’t feel the building was maintained as the extractor fan kept us up all night and soon as we checked in at 4pm we had a maintenance man attend which isn’t a problem but you think this would have been done before check in time (4pm is late enough) also my partners 40th birthday arranged for petals to be put on the bed which was done however the mood was soon killed by the staff member that walked into our room wouldn’t leave it’s like he expected a tip! After complaining the next day to him saying we haven’t had no sleep as the humming from the extractor fan kept us up all night and never went off he just said sorry! No kind acts of service and still expected a service charge when I told him to take it off he said that’s for afternoon tea not for the room I said I have had dinner too explained the meal was salty and paid for a service charge then. I also emailed to ask for a complaints email and not received a response
