We felt that we should...
Liked: We enjoyed relaxation in the Library in the evening over wine and light snacks as well Afternoon Tea. Even though it was a rainy evening had a nice walk about the grounds. Upon departing we both remarked that a return visit was a must.
Disliked: no complaints...loved every minute of our stay...next time we will make it longer.

We enjoyed our stay and...
Liked: The castle and grounds were picturesque. The room was beautiful and clean. The bed exceeded all expectations. The staff were kind and very helpful. The entertainment was fantastic especially the Elizabethan banquet and the escape room. Fantastic 1st year
Anniversary and thank you to the staff for our card. Lovely touch.
Disliked: We paid for both mornings to have breakfast. The first morning we were waiting nearly an hour after we ordered. When the breakfast eventually arrived it was for the wrong table. Another 10 minutes passed and when our order did arrive it was wrong. We didn?t pay for the next morning and ate somewhere else. The hot water tap in our bathroom kept turning off and was quite annoying.

Amazing place to stay
Liked: The communal areas were lovely and very atmospheric. We liked the bar area and the restaurant. Our meal was fantastic, we'd definitely like to eat there again some day. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Perfect location too.
Disliked: Our room was a little bit small and dark, but as the hotel is a castle this might be expected! The furnishings and carpet were a bit tired. The shower room extracter fan wasn't working.

This was a birthday surprise...
Liked: It?s wonderful how the original features have not been comprised whilst making this beautiful castle into a Hotel, you really do feel like you have gone back in time. It was such a pleasure to spend a night in the castle, a wonderful memory that will stay with us forever!
The staff cannot do enough for you even down to a choice of pillows!! And the food is simple exquisite.
Disliked: Nothing needs improving it was simply perfect.

Quirky place to stay!
Liked: The old-world charm of the Castle rooms.

This is the second time...
Liked: Found the staff generally friendly. Check in was efficient. Location not far from A1M was great for the morning after get away.
Its a pretty atmospheric if you want something slightly different but uneven floors and steps probably make it more difficult for elderly or infirm.
Disliked: Wanted Dinner at the hotel but due to group corporate clients it was either very early or very late. Went for the early option but found to be the only people in the restaurant for the first 30 minutes. Normal restaurant was moved temporarily and the alternative wasn't obvious and took some finding. Found the food average quality and not much of it but very expensive for what it was particularly by North East standards. Room was small but comfortable but floor towel for shower was damp on arrival.
