A gorgeous weekend stay

Liked: We stayed in the Lodge, room 23. It's a lovely big room, on the ground floor. The beds are super comfy and the towels are soft. The temp of the shower dips in and out, but absolutely fine. The staff are lovely, welcoming and accommodating and in terms of location - it's perfect! Plenty of parking too, which is great. The Black Swan pub is lovely and a five minute walk to your left (there's also a local shop) and the high street is to your right. The 1859 Cafe is superb. You'll need to book tables for both places. The hotel is a great spot for families. I will definitely stay there again.
Disliked: Unfortunately the breakfast didn't meet expectations. At £16 a head I would've liked to have seen more than croissants for pastries, a cafetiere of coffee - decaf was sachets, the fruit was limited and my poached eggs were missing a lovely rich yolk. It was the only disappointment but when you've paid almost £50 for three breakfasts, it's an expensive one.

Liked: Lovely big and comfortable bed and the clean bed and room.
Disliked: Had trouble with the shower so had baths instead.

An excellent stay at the...

Liked: Excellent value for money. Great location. Easy access to the pubs and restaurants and a very short walk to the beach and the coastal path. Room was very spacious and had good facilities. Tea, coffee, kettle, hairdryer etc. Staff were all excellent friendly and professional.

Liked: In a lovely position. We were in the lodge at the back which was quiet and comfortable. Lovely grounds.
Disliked: Bathroom a bit dated , we couldn't get an iron .
