Lord Elgin Hotel

It was a good stay, but will look for something a little nicer next time.

Liked: Location was central as a tourist, we walked everywhere ,with a park across the street, famous landmarks within a few blocks and a friendly neighborhood next door.nothing

Disliked: Felt like she needs a facelift The lobby floor shakes slightly and it’s nauseating

Liked: Breakfast was missed as staff forgot to pick up order night before yet front desk staff fixed that in am!!
Disliked: First floor does not have great views of park but top of roof entrance of hotel was full of spiders and webs we could not open window as well door to room let is all the light from hallway made us feel insecure in our room as well hard to sleep as we could hear everything in hallway This is strange as a simple doorway weather strip from Hope depot would keep out light and sound and heat as the air also shut off in room after 1 am making it hard to sleep. we tried to adjust temperature and lower and still cold air did not adjust back until 6 am so I got two 3 hours sleep then waited over an hour for a late breakfast which they then gave for free which cost 75$ for toast a muffin plate and plus two eggs with toast and potatoes? The pool is great and hot in is nice but the sauna was fantastic and worked perfectly and private too!

Liked: Grumpy at check in and we had to change rooms because of a bad smell coming from the closet; the AC was incredibly noisy and don’t work very well (and we visited during a heatwave so needed it on allNight); the room service food quality wasPoor and some items never arrived despite having been requested twice; the pillows gave my husband and I neck pain for days.
Disliked: See above.

Grand, vintage hotel in the...

Liked: Fantastic location, very handy for the canal, sightseeing in the city, & visiting the numerous restaurants & bars! Beautiful, vintage style hotel, super professional, friendly & helpful staff. Great communication from the hotel before our visit explaining about the front entrance improvements. Big quiet room with a fabulously comfy bed & pillows!
Disliked: Nothing we didn’t like.

Disliked: Not a single bottle of water in the fridge
