The Spotlight on Lord Baltimore Hotel

Historic Style Meets Modern Comfort in the Heart of Baltimore

Just steps from the Inner Harbor, the Lord Baltimore Hotel blends classic charm with updated amenities right in downtown Baltimore. With its grand 1920s architecture, plush bedding, and a rooftop bar with sweeping city views, this hotel is perfect for concert-goers who want to stay close to the action while soaking up some local history. You're less than a mile from top spots like Camden Yards, the Baltimore Convention Center, and M&T Bank Stadium.

Why Concert-goers love it

Location is everything, and Lord Baltimore delivers. You’re walking distance to several major venues, and the Charles Center rail station is practically at your doorstep for easy late-night transit. Despite the central location, guests often note that rooms are quiet, offering a peaceful retreat after a loud show. With check-in starting at 4:00 PM and checkout at 11:00 AM, there’s flexibility for weekend stays or after-party sleep-ins.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a fun, central base
  • Solo travelers chasing a dream gig
  • Couples planning a romantic concert weekend
  • Fans who want a quiet place to relax post-show
  • Budget-conscious music lovers seeking value in the city center

Food and Drink Options

The on-site restaurant makes it easy to grab a bite before or after a show, and the rooftop LB Skybar offers cocktails with a side of skyline views on select evenings. While 24/7 room service isn’t available, there are plenty of late-night eateries and bars within walking distance. Breakfast is available on-site—ideal for those slow mornings after a late night.

Nightlife Options

Beyond the concerts, guests can enjoy live music at the rooftop LB Skybar when it’s open. The surrounding area is packed with pubs, lounges, and clubs, so you can keep the night going or wind down with a local brew.

What People Say

Guests rave about the hotel’s central location, historic charm, and friendly staff. The rooftop bar is a hit for pre- or post-concert hangs, and many reviewers mention the clean, comfortable rooms and solid amenities, especially for the price.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests note that the hotel shows a bit of its age in places—think older elevators or slightly dated hallways—but most agree that the rooms themselves are well-kept and cozy. The rooftop bar isn't open every night, so check ahead if it’s a must-do.

The Bottom Line

For music fans looking to stay in the heart of Baltimore with great access to venues, nightlife, and comfort, the Lord Baltimore Hotel hits the right note.

The hotel was beautiful and so close to the venue. Would definitely stay there again.

Liked: The room was a great size; we loved the lobby, and the walk to the venue was so convenient.
Disliked: The room was a little warm in the evening, despite being set to low. We didn't call to complain, but wish we would have been able to crack a window for fresh air.

Liked: I loved the Lord Baltimore Hotel. Great location and very nice staff. I like staying in hotels that are a part of a huge chain. This had the feel of a slightly quirky, European hotel. Nice lobby and lobby bar. We had a lovely LARGE handicapped accessible room, since my daughter is in a wheelchair. The size of the room gave her more space than most hotel rooms. The bathroom was also nicely set up for the wheelchair. I recommend this hotel, and will be back!

Nathaniel, Washington DC, visiting Rams Head Live! Tue, 3 September 2013

The hotel is not bad, but it's not great. It's an old building that is being renovated, but it has a long way to go. The rooms are small, have little amenities, but if you are looking just for a place to crash, it's fine. There was no fridge or microwave (so no leftovers). The TV was 10+ years old, and you get maybe 20 channels, and 7 of them are ESPN (ESPN 2, etc.) Our bed was quite uncomfortable. Parking is $15/day for self-park, or $31/day for Valet with no in/out privileges. Driving to parking is a labyrinth of one way streets, but it's not horrible. We went to a show at Ram's Head Live, which was a 10-15 minute walk away, but you get to walk by all the strip clubs. Luckily the police station is very close by, and there are police wandering around, so we felt only slightly uncomfortable walking home. Unless they were way less expensive than the other big names (Sheraton, Marriott, etc. I would try one of those places instead, at least until they renovate this place).

Liked: Central location; price; free Wifi.
Disliked: Dated rooms; annoying parking; paid parking. No microwave; no fridge; no free breakfast.
