It was a wonderful, relaxing...

Liked: The breakfast was excellent. It was freshly prepared by the host each morning. The host was a fountain of information about the area. It’s a shame we hadn’t planned to stay longer.

Homey lodge outside of town...

Liked: The innkeeper Don was very friendly, funny, hospitable and informative about local restaurants, hikes and activities. He was the best part of our stay! Bed was comfortable and our room and bathroom were clean. Lodge provided hiking gear (backpacks, hiking poles, sunscreen etc) for guests to use as well as afternoon cookies and cold drinks for a snack. Lodge was in a quiet / remote location about 10 minutes drive outside of the public square in Dahlonega.
Disliked: The well water supplying the lodge wasn’t safe to drink (as per local health department) so we needed bottled water (provided by the lodge). The lower level of the lodge (where we were staying) was musty (a year round dehumidifier would have helped).

Short but Sweet LML stay!

Liked: Property was nicely decorated and generally appears well maintained. Our room had a great mountain view, Keurig coffee maker, iPhone chargers, fireplace, bath robes, and a private entrance, which were nice. The staff and homemade breakfasts were exceptional and the afternoon snacks, including wine were also a nice touch. The process for check in and out was simple and the in-room instructions were also easy to navigate. Plenty of board games and loner hiking equipment were available. The directions, restaurant and hiking recommendations by Don were very much appreciated. Overall a very nice property!
Disliked: I would call these recommendations, not dislikes. 1) We did not have a specific HVAC for our room, so had a little bit of a hard time getting comfortable with the preset temps. A mini split with individual room controls would have been nice. We like it cold. 🥶2) We also are evening coffee drinkers, but creamer was not available at the times when the kitchen is "off limits". Stocking the dining room fridge in the future would be great. 3) The driveway to the lodge is steep and narrow. Be prepared for this.
