Unwelcoming staff
Liked: The hotel was absolutely beautiful. the view and location was outstanding. The food was gorgeous. and I was very pleased with the room.
Disliked: The staff. Specifically Silver. She made me feel I wasn’t good enough to be staying there. I normally regularly stay at Ruben at the Palace, but this trip I had my disabled mother, & daughter, so they couldn’t accommodate us, as fully booked. So I decided to try county hall as the location was perfect for my mother’s limited mobility. We were very much looking forward to staying. I have been extremely poorly over the last few years. I lost all my hair, and it’s only recently started to grow back. I find it really hard leaving the house because of this. So it was a big deal for me to go to London looking so very different to how I once did, I wanted to be able to relax and enjoy myself. and My Mother has only recently lost her mother, and is days away from having hip replacements. So she really needed a little break, and to have her sprits lifted. sadly this wasn’t achieved. I left my bag on the train with my wallet and driver’s license on the journey up. So I didn’t have my bank card or ID. the situation was stressful enough. But to then be told I ‘probably wouldn’t be able to stay the night, as that’s against their policies’ (which I should point out that it wasn’t even made clear when I booked that I would need ID!) when I arrived after losing my belongings, a nearly 3 hour train journey, then to miss the £300 boat cruise we had booked because of the time Silver took at check in while she went off to find out if we could stay - was rather upsetting! and to be made to feel I’m not good enough by the way she spoke to me, was just not acceptable. I won’t be returning because of this. I feel humiliated. I’ve never been made to feel like this at Rubens. I paid over £700 for just one night, to wish I just hadn’t bothered!very disappointing.

Very good
Liked: Great location, right beside London Eye, Sea-life Aquarium, 5mins walk to Big Ben, and all the amazing sites around it. Five mins walk to to the London bridge, another 5 mins to Tower bridge. You can literally tour the environs for 3 days and still have a satisfying visit. Two train stations (Westminster and Waterloo) are close-by for a trip to other parts of the city like West end.Breakfast was amazing, although not Buffet, you'd get the opportunity of ordering one hot plate and a cold plate.Friendly and helpful front-dest officers. They were warm and ready to help.
Disliked: This is not really significant but the Hotel entrance, especially the walkway, could use a bit of facelift to make it more receptive and smart.
