Pleasant one night stay whilst...
Liked: Beautiful views across the golf course and hadn’t expected a balcony. 2 good size double beds.
Disliked: Having to pay half upfront - unusual nowadays. Also £10 to use the pool even as a resident - we declined. No glasses in the room.

Needs a bit of TLC
Liked: Convenient location for the tunnel, a good breakfast and a big room.
Disliked: They encourage you to leave your key as it is an actual key, but when we got back the night porter did not have access to them, so we had to wait for someone to come back with a key to the key. It's all a shadow of its former glory. Needs a bit of tlc.

Great value for money
Liked: Comfortable room, good breakfast, friendly staff
Disliked: Having to pay extra for spa usage, expensive fornuse of pool and steam room. Also, the hairdryer in the room was not good, I had to kneel on the floor to use it

Friendly staff but hotel needs...
Liked: Overall it was very average. The rooms are big but very dated. The beds are also big and comfortable but the sheets have a musty smell. The staff were very friendly. It is obviously geared towards men who play golf and share a room. We didn't have a bad experience but it also wasn't quite what we expected. It feels a bit like going back in time.
Disliked: It is a very dated hotel. Not just the furniture but also the facilities and their rules, all seem to be stuck in the 80s. The room was big but lacking power points, and it could do with things like a make-up mirror or better lighting in the room and the sheets and towels smelled a bit musty. The balcony was lovely but when it rains the drains are leaking and in dire need of maintenance as they are very noisy. There's a lot of banging in the corridors early in the morning and they started mowing the lawn / golf course before 8 a.m. on Sunday morning. Not the most relaxing start to the day when you're on holiday. The cooked breakfast was fine, the 'continental buffet' was pretty limited. You had to pay extra for coffees such as cappuccino. There is an option to pay for the pool - according to the booking.com website they charge £60 per person per night mid-week and £100 per person per night on Fridays and Saturdays. For the small pool area that does not have any loungers to relax on, just a few seats dotted around the pool that does seem a bit ridiculous. I also think that the hotel's website is very misleading as it is implied that the spa and gym are available to guests which they are not, or at least not without extra fees. So overall, if you're there to play golf it's a great location and probably does the trick.

Functional , served the purpose…...
Liked: Nice room , comfortable bed apart from the headboard which had a ledge that made it very uncomfortable to sit up as it digs into your neck .
Disliked: It was cold . The weather was awful and the rooms were cold.
